    Background

    Cypress Fund and the ​Grove by Cypress Action Fund (The Grove) support social justice organizing in North and South Carolina, focusing on donor organizing and making strategic investments in movement building. Cypress and the ​Grove were created by individuals rooted in ​North and South Carolina who sincerely believe that the best solutions for our communities are homegrown and led by southern folks impacted by the conditions on the ground. Grassroots community organizers and social justice leaders in the Carolinas direct the long-term vision and grantmaking within the Grove because these movement leaders are the experts in our communities' issues. Cypress and the ​Grove believe everyone is vital in building power for marginalized communities across the US South, including everyday people and donors. Cypress and the ​Grove has a governing bodies that will help determine and guide the strategic direction of the Fund and support the Director’s management.

    The Role

    Cypress x the Grove is looking to bring on an executive assistant to the Chief Reparations Officer, RO. The Executive Assistant (part-time) will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of executive and board functions. This role involves managing schedules, coordinating communications, handling confidential information, producing meeting materials and minutes, and assisting with various administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, professional, and highly organized.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage professional and personal scheduling for CRO, including agendas, mail, email, phone calls, and other company logistics
    • Coordinate complex scheduling and calendar management, as well as content and flow of information to other directors in the organization.
    • Manage senior executives’ travel logistics and activities, including accommodations, transportation, and meals.
    • Create and maintain spreadsheets for leadership (KPIs, goals, budgets).
    • Provide administrative and office support, such as typing, dictation, spreadsheet creation, faxing, and maintenance of filing system and contacts database
    • Maintain professionalism and strict confidentiality with all materials
    • Organize team communications and plan events, both internal and off-site
    • Prepare conference rooms for in-person meetings - includes technology set-up and clean-up of conference rooms.
    • Assist with compiling information and preparing spreadsheets and PowerPoint slides for various topics and events.
    • Travel occasionally for the organization.
    • Other related tasks, as identified by the CRO

    • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

    This is a part-time, exempt hybrid position working Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend hours (20-25 hours per week) Cypress x the Grove is a hybrid office; .you will collaborate with colleagues across the Carolinas. You should be prepared to work from home or our office. The person in this position must be able to communicate with colleagues and partners via phone, including conference and video calls, and written communication, such as Slack and email.
