    Description

    The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with a contract duration of two years. Employment location will be Berlin, Germany.

    As Assistant Global Hunger Index (GHI), you will work in Welthungerhilfe's Policy & External Relations Unit and support the successful production and dissemination of the flagship publication of Welthungerhilfe. Your assistance will contribute to the advocacy and communication work as well as to implementing the strategic development of the report.

    Your responsibilities

    • Support of project coordination, communication, and production management of the GHI in cooperation with international partners as well as external service providers
    • Editorial work in English and German, if necessary also in French (image research, checking translations, text editing)
    • Preparation of results of the GHI and co-design of communication products within the framework of Welthungerhilfe's public relations work and coordination with the responsible internal organizational units
    • Administrative and organizational support in the preparation and follow-up of events to present the GHI in Germany, at EU level and in partner countries, including invitation, contact and travel management
    • Support in project administration
    • Information and communication management of the GHI content and materials with colleagues and partners, including maintenance of the intranet page
    • Support in the design and maintenance of the GHI website
    • Support in monitoring and evaluation of project activities
    • Research on and preparation of GHI-relevant topics

    Your profile

    • A university or college degree, commercial training, or adequate experience in a relevant field
    • Experience in event organization, communications and advocacy work
    • Solid experience in editorial work with a strong sense of text and language
    • Experience working with CMS systems and detail testing, analytics tools, agency support, and an understanding of website structure and dependent factors is desirable
    • Knowledge of relevant developmental and food security topics
    • Confident use of MS Office products, especially Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Independent, structured and reliable way of working
    • Excellent spoken and written German and English language skills, knowledge of French would be an advantage
