    What started as a small group of families gathered around a kitchen table in 1979 has blossomed into the nation’s leading voice on mental health. The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness.

    Today, we are an alliance of hundreds of local affiliates, state organizations and a national office that work in communities across the United States to raise awareness and provide support and education that was not previously available to those in need. NAMI advocates for all who are affected by mental illness, both the individuals and the people in their lives. We work to address disparities and injustices and to promote dignity and inclusion for all people with mental illness and their families. In addition to being advocates, we educate, we listen, and we lead as evidenced by our public awareness campaigns, the range of programs we provide, and our strong public policy.

    We currently have an opening for a Manager, Spanish Programs & Training. The Manager will oversee the development, translation, cultural adaptation and dissemination of Spanish content developed by NAMI Education department and support departmental staff and field leaders to implement these NAMI Signature Programs (NSPs) and trainings. The Manager will also be responsible for building and maintaining relationships that will help to raise awareness, reduce stigma and support Hispanic/Latinx communities with relevant and effective mental health education and resources.

    This full-time position may be off-site or based in Arlington VA on a hybrid basis.

    Salary Range: $65k - $70k

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop strategy to support the growth of Spanish-language NAMI NSPs
    • Carry out program evaluations and reporting
    • Build relationships and communicate with field program directors and leaders to assess program access, effectiveness and activity
    • Create and/or update marketing and online resources for Spanish-language NAMI NSPs
    • Implement budgets and manage deliverables for grant-funded projects when needed
    • Track and analyze current department Spanish-language content, program data, resources and outreach efforts to identify and assess opportunities for improvement
    • Confirm and edit Spanish-language translations from vendors per NAMI standards
    • Oversee and/or provide minor translation or edits to internal NAMI documents per NAMI standards
    • Manage and track Spanish program support requests
    • Manage program manual update process, create and edit curriculum for Spanish-language NSPs
    • Ensure maintenance of online program materials on NAMI’s extranet sites
    • Provide technical support to, and draft electronic communications for, NAMI state and affiliate leaders in relation to programs, ensuring alignment with other NAMI teams as needed
    • Assists with building and strengthening strategic partnerships and relationships with stakeholders
    • Develops and delivers programming for the NAMI national convention
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
    • 3 – 5 years’ experience with program management or similar responsibilities
    • Must have curriculum and program development experience
    • Certified to lead at least one NAMI Signature Program or experience with NAMI Signature Programs
    • Spanish fluency (native speakers preferred)
    • Experience translating content from English to Spanish
    • Experience editing content in Spanish
    • In-depth knowledge and understanding of Latinx and Hispanic communities
    • Customer service experience preferred
    • Knowledge of mental health education and support
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Ability to work independently
    • Ability to collaborate with a diverse staff and member population
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
    • Familiarity with Adobe products, specifically Adobe Connect and Adobe Acrobat Pro highly valued
    • Must pass background check
