    CNEWA is currently seeking an innovative and creative Social Media Specialist who is passionate about connecting our current and future audiences with CNEWA's mission and values.

    Principal responsibilities include but are not exclusive to:

    • Develops social media content, such as videos, Instagram stories and graphics, working with key content creators to create materials that resonate with agency mission, brand and voice.
    • Helps create and adheres to approved monthly calendar of posts to maintain cohesive, consistent and well thought out messaging and online presence.
    • Works closely with communications and marketing teammates in correcting and/or updating all content, particularly legacy material, generating pages and posts, executes internal links and assists in posting content to blog, agency email blasts and social media accounts.
    • Recommends and produces multimedia features for agency website — especially for the magazine, blog and fundraising campaigns — such as videos, podcasts and photo galleries.
    • Assists Marketing Manager in drafting copy for various agency purposes, including marketing campaigns, promotional materials, social media and emails.

    Key Qualification:

    • Knows how to track traffic to CNEWA via social media to determine what works best or gets most responses, so than they and editorial can use those analytics to grow site’s audience and traffic.
    • Understand CNEWA’s mission/brand/ target audience/donor base.
    • Must be able to properly project manage the social media calendar.
    • Strong proficiency in Mailchimp.
    • Strong proficiency in adobe suite in particular photoshop.
    • Be able to prioritize which comments merit a response and to channel, when necessary, to other appropriate staff for further follow up. Know what to avoid and ignore. Know how to cultivate leads.
    • Creates and posts shareable videos and images.
    • Able to work with creative team to make illustrations and memes.
    • Assists with content management including agency website.
    • Is creative and stays on top of emerging trends and technologies.
    • PR, marketing, social media journalism degrees are preferred.
    • Knows website management (CMS)
    • Must possess inclusive world view and an understanding of the religious, cultural and social environments of the countries and people served by CNEWA.
