    Description

    The Women’s Community Revitalization Project (WCRP) founded in 1987, is committed to social and economic justice for low-income women and their families. WCRP develops housing; provides supportive services; advocates for policy change, and honors leadership, dignity, and equity in communities.

    Key responsibilities of the Full-Time (40 hours) Tenant Case Manager are to provide direct services to tenant families and support families to achieve long-term housing stability and family well-being. This position reports directly to the Coordinator of Tenant Services.

    Case Management:

    Direct provision of services to ensure that tenants

    • Are supported in the development of an individualized plan of self assessment and goal setting to increase their economic security and strengthen their ability to nurture and care for themselves and their family
    • Receive ongoing follow up and active support to help them implement their plan
    • Have the capacity to pay their rent and maintain their homes
    • Have access to resources in the community that support families in times of crisis and address specific family needs.
    • Are supported in building leadership skills to participate effectively in tenant community meetings, on WCRP’s board, committees and other community activities.
    • Documentation and record keeping to ensure that WCRP’s database is updated and maintained

    Coordination with Property Management:

    • Provide services that will increase the likelihood that tenants will pay rent on time and fulfill other responsibilities under the lease
    • Advocate for families when there is a lease violation or property management issue
    • Work with property management staff to clarify and help resolve issues
    • Participating in conflict resolution sessions

    General Responsibilities:

    • Attend team meetings
    • Compile reports on tenant progress
    • Attend tenant meetings

    Qualifications

    • Preferred - Three years of experience working in direct service provision or a bachelor’s degree
    • Strongly preferred - Fluency to speak Spanish
    • Demonstrated commitment to working with low-income women
    • Ability to work independently and to creatively solve problems
    • Strong organizational and communication skills
    • Ability to work occasional evenings

    Salary Range: $45,000 - $48,000
