    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    We are seeking a Development Coordinator, Strategic Partnerships, who embodies the values, principles, and priorities that guide our initiatives as we continue to make a lasting impact on the future. The position of Development Coordinator, Strategic Partnerships reports to Senior Development Manager, Strategic Partnerships.

    The Development Coordinator, Strategic Partnerships plays a pivotal role in nurturing and strengthening relationships with our valued partners worldwide. This position focuses on ensuring excellent customer service, facilitating communication, and is responsible for aspects of SWE’s fundraising efforts from private, government, and corporate foundations as well as individual giving and scholarships. The Development Coordinator works closely with the Senior Development Manager, Membership and the Finance, Business and Recognition teams, as well as the Board of Trustees, employing in-depth knowledge of SWE's programs and services to advance fundraising, giving, and scholarship objectives.

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Grant Management (50%)

    • Work with the Senior Development Manager to develop and write high-quality grant proposals while meeting funder requirements, deadlines, and specifications.
    • Complete required grant reporting and compliance for funders prior to deadlines.
    • Maintain the grant proposals and deliverables tracker, contacts, and databases.
    • Work with SWE’s programs team to ensure grant deliverables are met.
    • Research and identify new private, corporate, and government grant opportunities.
    • Solicit foundations by drafting compelling letter of inquiries (LOIs) and introductory meetings.

    Individual Giving (20%)

    • Process individual gifts received through checks and wire transfers into Fonteva and Salesforce.
    • Create donor acknowledgment letters and individual giving reports.
    • Work with SWE’s membership department to process life membership matches and donations.
    • Maintain the individual giving service queue and provide customer service regarding giving requests.
    • Work with the Senior Development Manager to support individual and major giving campaigns throughout the year as needed.
    • Assist with the planning and execution of donor-centered recognition events at SWE’s Annual Conference (e.g., Life Member and Halo Reception).

    Board of Trustees Support (20%)

    • Serve as the main liaison between SWE's Board of Trustees (BOT) and SWE HQ to enhance communication and resolve issues.
    • Understand the organizational structures of SWE HQ and BOT, ensuring clear communication on changes, initiatives, and activities.
    • Attend BOT meetings as needed.
    • Manage joint HQ/BOT projects, with a focus on scholarships, coordinating their advancement from set up through promotion to ensure on-time delivery.
    • Oversee the endowment website, ensuring the landing page is updated with relevant graphics and operational links.
    • Support the Year-End Report and manage its promotion and distribution to donors.
    • Coordinate donor recognition efforts across stakeholders (marketing, BOT, HQ).

    Scholarships (5%)

    • Update SWE’s scholarship criteria and applications on the scholarship portal, Kaleidoscope.
    • Engage with the Senior Development Manager to support existing organizational funders and understand their processes.
    • Collaborate internally and externally to track and report all scholarships.

    Administrative (5%)

    Undertake additional duties as assigned by the leadership team, contributing to the organization's overall success.

    TRAVEL & SCHEDULE:

    This position works 40 hours a week. Travel is required 2-5 times annually.

    EDUCATION AND DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 1+ years of grant writing experience.
    • Familiarity with Salesforce or Fonteva and donor management databases is a plus.
    • Excellent communication and writing skills with the ability to adapt and engage multiple audiences and stakeholders.
    • Detail-oriented with an ability to manage multiple assignments through clear and direct communication.
    • Strong ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience with nonprofit development and fundraising.
    • Experience with associations, STEM organizations or diversity organizations are a plus.
    • Customer service-oriented with a can-do approach to challenges.
