    Wholesale Sales Development Specialist (Full Time)

    Position Summary

    The Sales Development Specialist is a trusted advisor and partner to GrowNYC Wholesale customers. The Development Specialist works to gain a detailed understanding of their customer’s needs, and quickly develop a strong knowledge of GrowNYC Wholesale product offerings and operations processes. They are able to communicate GrowNYC Wholesale’s value proposition verbally and in writing and share our passion and mission for supporting local and regional farms, as well as our focus on food access and delivering farmers market quality food throughout New York City. The focus of this role is to develop and cultivate relationships with new and existing customers - including restaurants, specialty grocers, supermarkets and more

    Requirements

    Wholesale Customer Service Specialist Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):

    • Develop, manage, and optimize relationships with existing customer accounts
    • Communicate with customers via phone, email, and in person contact regarding GrowNYC Wholesale products promotions, seasonality, and customer needs.
    • Seek out and develop new customer relationships
    • Work closely with existing customers to educate them on new products and first harvests
    • Provide training and onboarding for new customers including delivery details, accounting and product knowledge
    • Expand GrowNYC Wholesale’s presence across the five boroughs
    • Support in promotional emails, marketing campaigns and social media

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years in sales and business development
    • Excellent time management, ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
    • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
    • Fluency in multiple languages is a plus

    Ideal Qualifications

    • New York State driver’s license
    • Knowledge of food policy, sustainable local agriculture/farming, food systems, food access, and/or food justice
    • Fluency in multiple languages is a plus

    Schedule

    Monday – Friday (9am-5pm). This position is full-time and year-round with an expected weekly workload of 35-40 hours per week with a 1 hour unpaid meal break each work day.

    Compensation

    This is a non-exempt full-time salaried position. It pays $63,000 - $68,000 annually and includes full benefits (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability, paid time off, Public Service Loan Forgiveness, and potential for parental leave for full-time regular employees who have been employed with GrowNYC for 175 days and FSA programs). This position is union eligible.

    Location

    This is a hybrid role including 2 days remote and 3 days from another GrowNYC work location (either at our Bronx Hub or at our downtown Manhattan office), including mandatory presence on Wednesdays at the downtown office. This role may occasionally require off-site field visits to customer/partner sites.
