    JOB SUMMARY AND KEY PRIORITIES

    The Manager, Individual Giving, will play a key role in ensuring Active Minds has a robust and thriving individual giving program for those who choose to invest in our work. Reporting to the Director, Individual Giving, this person will be accountable for meeting a starting $375,000 revenue goal for individuals who give less than $10,000 annually, marketing and growing three giving communities (monthly donors, mid-level donors, planned giving donors), maintaining a personal portfolio of highly-engaged and upgradable individual contributors, and providing unique cultivation and stewardship opportunities for individual donors.

    KEY RESULTS:

    Individual Donor Portfolio Management (50%)

    • Accountable for meeting yearly revenue goals from individual donors who contribute less than $10,000 annually ($375,000 in FY24-25).
    • Responsible for maintaining a focused 1-to-1 portfolio of individual donors contributing up to $9,999 annually, with a focus on contributors of $1,000+ annually.
    • Create individualized outreach strategies for each donor in the 1-to-1 portfolio, which includes regular communications by email, mail, phone, and in-person visits.
    • Implement personalized solicitation strategies for each individual, including the identification of key moments for renewals and opportunities to increase annual giving.
    • Maintain detailed records in the donor database of ongoing strategies for donors, including call/meeting notes, donor research profiles, solicitation strategies, and communication preferences.
    • Initiate the production of any materials needed for individual giving meetings, including pitch decks, one-pagers on programs, etc.
    • Responsible for ensuring effective 1-to-many cultivation and solicitation strategies in partnership with the Manager, Donor Experience.

    Individual Donor Engagement (30%)

    • Strategize and implement a regular cadence of in-person cultivation events nationwide, to encourage retention and increase giving (key focus on meeting with prospective donors who can contribute $1,000+).
    • Oversee and manage the Advocates Circle - for individuals who contribute $1,000 to $9,999 annually - including annual strategies to move existing donors into the Advocates Circle and providing unique cultivation/stewardship opportunities.
    • Oversee and manage our monthly giving program, Champions for Change, including annual strategies for growth and retention of monthly supporters.
    • Create and implement a formal planned giving program, including strategies to effectively market planned giving to current and prospective donors as well as providing unique cultivation/stewardship opportunities.

    Cross-Team Collaboration (10%)

    • Collaborate with the Director of Individual Giving to identify upgradeable donors currently giving less than $10,000 through prospect research.
    • Collaborate with other Development Team members to ensure a high-quality donor experience, including donation form optimization, thank you letters, additional engagement opportunities, etc.
    • Participate in the annual budgeting process, which includes revenue and expense projections for the entire fiscal year.

    Other (10%)

    • Actively participate in regular department/staff meetings on a bi-weekly basis.
    • Manage interns and volunteers as needed.
    • Conduct other duties, as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 4+ years in nonprofit fundraising, particularly in annual fund and/or mid-level giving programs, or transferable experience
    • Experience in 1-to-1 portfolio management of donors
    • Experience in donor CRM’s, preferably Salesforce and Classy
    • Fully digital literate, including Microsoft & Google products, and online meeting tools

    COMPENSATION

    This position offers an initial salary range of $65,000 along with robust benefits. The starting pay for this position is equal to others at the same level throughout the organization. Candidates whose experience meets both the minimum and preferred qualifications may be considered for a starting salary that exceeds the current amount. The role sits within Active Minds Level 3 salary band, and as such, has the potential to grow to $92,000 over time. FLSA Status: Exempt.
