    Description

At 12 Plus, we believe in every student’s potential for success. We believe in the power of people to inspire and motivate each other. This is why we take pride in our team, which is available to all students in our partner schools throughout each and every school day. They greet each student on the first day of school and cheer them on through graduation. They are leaders, mentors, tutors, and advocates.

Our Site Directors (SDs) are impassioned, energetic, and team-oriented individuals who are responsible for managing a team of (up to) 2 Fellows and/or College & Career Coordinators to help build a culture of post-secondary success at their school. While each school has a unique identity and community, we work toward this goal in all schools by: (i) implementing 12 Plus’ programming, which includes 1-on-1 student advising, group workshops, and school-wide events; and (ii) driving and tracking student metrics and outcomes at their school, which can include FAFSA and state financial aid completion, 2- and 4- year college applications, and overall post-secondary commitments.

The Site Director will work out of the partner school, manage the Plus Center, and represent 12 Plus at their site–developing and maintaining positive relationships with school administrators, teachers, and students. The SD will work under the supervision of their city’s Impact Director and with the support of other HQ staff.

    Responsibilities:

    12 Plus Liaison

    • Promote and create buy-in for 12 Plus’s mission and role in the school
    • Maintain strong relationship with school administration with the support of their Impact Director
    • Meet & manage school expectations—staff meetings, deadlines, accountability, updates, etc.
    • Work with school counselors & school staff to coordinate tasks relating to student post-secondary success such as transcript uploads, CommonApp recommendations, Naviance, etc.

    Site Team Manager

    • Lead site team to meet the programmatic, advising, and metric goals, as set forth with the Impact Director at the beginning of the year, balancing organizational mission and school-specific needs & expectations
    • Support and manage site team in maintaining a positive and productive Plus Center environment
    • Plan and delegate tasks to site team members to ensure 12 Plus program expectations are being met
    • Working with the Impact Director, ensure continued 12+ Fellows training (PD)
    • Conduct official site team evaluations and provide ongoing feedback

    Program Manager

    • Team lead on implementing all 12+ programming, tailored to school interests & needs. Examples include:
      • RAISE (Freshman transition)
      • FLIGHT (college and career readiness)
      • PLUS Leaders (leadership development)
    • Working with Impact Directors and Director of Partnerships to organize school-wide events (College Week, Career Fair, FAFSA Night, etc.)
    • Schedule, coordinate, and communicate with teachers and counselors to integrate programming into school schedule
    • Review, report, and document program material and progress (with Impact Director)
    • Manage and maintain site logistics including budget, time off, and metrics

    Student Advisor & Advising Coordinator

    • Support the college and career aspirations and attainment of students, being mindful of senior class as a whole
    • Provide direct postsecondary advising to a reduced (relative to other direct service team members) cohort of seniors
    • Support and advocate for the holistic (including socio-emotional and academic) needs of students, as it pertains to students’ high school graduation future post-secondary success

    HQ Member

    • Interface between school sites and the rest of HQ
    • Advocate for student, school, program and Fellows needs to the rest of HQ
    • Communicate with other Site Directors and HQ members to build a community of practice, network of support, and institutional knowledge
