    Description

    The Campaign to Keep Guns Off Campus (The Campaign) is seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Director to lead our organization in achieving its mission. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nonprofit leadership, advocacy, and community engagement. This individual will be responsible for strategic planning, fundraising, and building partnerships to advance our goals.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement strategies to promote the organization’s mission and voice
    • Drive fundraising initiatives, including grant writing, donor cultivation, and fundraising events to support the organization’s activities
    • Oversee nationwide advocacy efforts in various states and, in particular, their state legislatures
    • Forge and maintain strong relations with K-12 and higher education stakeholders, gun violence prevention advocates, and elected officials at both state and national levels
    • Promote the organization and its accomplishments as well as related gun control news and legislation through press releases, social media campaigns and media appearances
    • Prepare and deliver testimony in front of legislative bodies
    • Manage membership database that tracks all aspects of participation and outreach
    • Work with Board of Directors to develop annual budget and other governance related issues throughout the year
    • Oversee staff of part-time development officer, college interns, and group of volunteers
