    Description

    Position Summary

    The Program Support Specialist is a key position supporting all aspects of the organization’s multi-year college and career success programming. They are responsible for program logistics, communications, and data management, all integral to programming and student success. This position requires someone who is organized, analytical, and a critical thinker.

    Responsibilities:

    • Student communications: maintain consistent and professional communication with students via text, email, phone, and social media
    • Program logistics: coordinate and manage logistics, including meals, transportation, and program reservations
    • Manage student data: maintain accurate student information and prepare partner school reporting
    • Conduct research: perform and update college and career-centric research
    • Manage office and programming supplies: regularly track inventory and facilitate procurement
    • Provide on-site support: chaperone STEM Seminars, College Workshops, and special events

    Required Qualifications

    • College degree from an accredited institution
    • Commitment to Building STEPS’ mission and vision
    • Demonstrated interest in working with students and young adults
    • Effective communication and relationship-building skills
    • Maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality
    • Ability to organize and work independently
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office
    • Adept at learning new skills and software

    Celebrating its 25th year, Building STEPS is increased the number of Baltimore City students who earn a college degree and successfully launch their careers. Guided by its mission to equip our city’s brightest students with the tools to propel them to college and career success, this Baltimore-based nonprofit offers STEM career exposure and immersion, college access and persistence guidance, and Backpack2Briefcase coaching. This comprehensive programming enables students to actualize their potential and creates generational impact.

    Building STEPS serves nearly 450 high school students, college students, and young professionals. Program graduates are 12 times more likely to earn a college degree than their non-Building STEPS classmates.
