    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Broad Street Love seeks a highly motivated and reliable individual to join our team as the Director of Human Resources and Operations. The Director of Human Resources and Operations is the primary liaison between the executive office and BSL staff and oversees all human resource responsibilities including, recruitment, compliance, benefits, compensation, employee relations, and administrative resources. This position will be responsible for supporting the organization with contracts and memorandums of understanding that support and protect our mission and ensure strategies and initiatives are met. The Director of Human Resources and Operations will oversee all the administrative aspects of the BSL facility, including contracts and vendor relations and will also ensure that BSL’s facilities remain in good condition and able to support institutional priorities. Broad Street Love is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity within our organization and assist in building an equitable and inclusive community.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide overall internal leadership for BSL staff and lead internal HR function.
    • Integrate the skills and expertise of a talented team of professionals. Inspire, motivate and support staff in ways that reinforce and support the BSL mission and goals.
    • Support an environment of collaboration and accountability, where roles and expectations are clearly established, but flexibility is highly valued, and creativity is welcomed.
    • Design and implement programs and activities that increase the level of staff understanding of trauma-informed, harm reduction methodologies, conflict de-escalation, respect in the workplace, self- and group-care, and other general principles and practices in alignment with BSL’s, mission, vision and values.
    • Partners with management to ensure HR policies and programs are aligned with strategic initiatives.
    • Manages the annual performance management process.
    • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
    • Assist department managers in creating processes and procedures that support employee engagement, professional development, and departmental efficiencies.
    • Lead, maintain, and coordinate BSL relationships with its numerous service partners, both onsite and offsite.
    • Oversees workspace assignments, building safety procedures and facility operations as it pertains to staff needs and the physical plant.
    • Coordinate and oversee contractors who support our operations.
    • Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization’s internal capacity.
    • Ensure operational activities remain on time and within a defined budget.
    • Responsible for ensuring that there are written operational policies procedures in place across operations, that they are kept updated and reviewed periodically.
    • Facilitate the comprehensive coordination of space rental.
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
    • 5-7 years of professional experience in human resources.
    • Demonstrated understanding of HR competencies and operations, including, but not limited to, compliance and employment law; staffing; diversity, equity, and inclusion; benefits administration; compensation administration; talent management; and HRIS administration.
    • Outstanding organization, planning, and project management skills, particularly regarding HR programs and initiatives, attention to details and accuracy and technologically savvy.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office with exceptional knowledge of Excel and Excel based programs, Google Workspace, email.
    • Demonstrated experience in exercising discretion, confidentiality, integrity, professionalism, and independent judgment.
    • Proficient skills in collaboration and communication effectively with employees across all levels of the organization.
    • Excellent client management skills.
    • The ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
