    Description

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Program & Communications Associate supports the work of Newton Community Pride (NCP), a nonprofit whose mission is to build community through free arts & culture programming, public art, beautification projects and volunteerism. Reporting to the Executive Director, this person will be responsible for: supporting the planning of NCP programs and special events; development, implementation, and tracking of effective social media and communications strategies; and assisting with fundraising communications and donor relations.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Assisting with NCP programming, special events, and festivals (including occasional evening and weekend work);
    • Developing and executing a comprehensive social media marketing plan across all platforms (Facebook, X, BlueSky, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube), including creating on-brand graphics, videos, and slide shows.
    • Periodically updating NCP website to ensure it is fresh and relevant;
    • Assisting with the production of biweekly e-newsletters;
    • Managing reporting and analytics for website, social channels, and email communications;
    • Supporting the development, execution, and distribution of collateral and graphic pieces;
    • Assisting with NCP board and donor relations, including running board meeting technology, CRM management, and donor acknowledgement processing.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Design, Marketing, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
    • One to two years of professional marketing/communications experience, or strong internship experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment;
    • Strong technological skills and background; ideal candidate will have experience using and managing social media accounts, website and e-newsletter platforms, CRMs, and online ticketing platforms;
    • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines;
    • Strong verbal, written, and graphic communication skills;
    • Basic photography and videography skills preferred;
    • Ability to work independently and on a team;
    • Reliable, enthusiastic. and engaging;
    • Interest in the arts strongly preferred.

    This is a part-time, non-exempt position. $20/hr. In office flexible schedule 1-2x a week. 15-20/hours a week. Send resume and cover letter to: contactus@newtoncommunitypride.org
