ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Other duties may be assigned)
Maintain confidentiality of records relating to program participants
Encourage participants to express their feelings and discuss what is happening in their lives, and help them to develop insight into themselves and their relationships
Guide program participants in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with their challenges and barriers
Prepare and maintain all required treatment records and reports
Counsel program participants individually and/or in group sessions, to assist in overcoming dependencies, life adjustments, and making changes
Collect information about program participants through meetings, sessions, and groups
Acts as advocate for all program participants and coordinates services with their families and with involved service providers including, but not limited to, schools, DCF and the criminal legal system; provides referrals as needed.
Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical experience and knowledge
Collaborate with other staff members to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans.
Evaluate program participant’s physical or mental condition based on review of client information
Meet with families and other interested parties in order to exchange necessary information during the treatment process
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree with minimum three (3) years direct service experience or Bachelor's degree with minimum five (5) years of experience may be substituted
Knowledge of Boston area human/clinical services and ability to work with a team of professionals. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
Provide trainings/workshops to Brookview staff and program participants
Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
Must be computer literate.
Works with a team approach to servicing program participants in a multi-service agency.
Attends staff trainings and supervision that is designated by the supervisor.
Conflict resolution skills
Must have current first aid and CPR certification within 3 months of employment
