    Description

    For over 30 years, The Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndromes (SADS) Foundation has been leading the way to save lives through education, research and advocacy for children, adults and families at risk for genetic heart conditions that can cause sudden death in young people.

    We promote increased medical research, develop and disseminate information, provide ongoing support to affected families and raise awareness of the warning signs of SADS conditions. The values of passion and compassion are the underlying forces that motivate SADS families, researchers, medical professionals, board members and staff to fulfill our mission and goals.

    Position Overview: The Director of Development will be responsible for planning and implementing a comprehensive fundraising program that includes major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, and planned giving.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to meet the organization’s annual revenue goals including major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, and planned giving.
    • Identify and cultivate major gift prospects, as well as corporate and foundation donors.
    • Collaborate with the Communications team to develop and execute effective donor communications and marketing materials.
    • Work closely with the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer to develop fundraising plans and performance metrics
    • Monitor and analyze fundraising data to evaluate performance and adjust strategies as needed. This involves tracking donor engagement and retention rates, analyzing revenue streams, and making data-driven decisions that help the organization achieve its fundraising goals.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, with a proven track record of success in major gifts, corporate and foundation giving, and planned giving.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write compelling donor communications and marketing materials.
    • Strong leadership and management skills
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, Board members, and volunteers.
    • Experience with fundraising software and donor databases.
    • A deep commitment to the mission and values of our organization.
