Creative Caregiver

About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join Obu Lamu as a Creative Caregiver. This role is integral to maintaining the Safe Space, a sanctuary for children, animals, and crops. The ideal candidate will contribute to a nurturing environment by ensuring cleanliness, caring for livestock (currently goats and cats, with plans to expand), overseeing the growth of crops, and supporting the well-being of children learning and living in the Safe Space.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the Safe Space.
• Provide daily care for animals (feeding, cleaning, and general welfare).
• Oversee the growth and care of crops.
• Support the children’s well-being, ensuring their needs are met.

What We Offer:

• Volunteer Period: For the first three months, food and accommodation will be provided.
• Training Period: After an evaluation, a two-month training phase will follow to develop skills and integrate into the role.
• Employment Opportunity: Upon successful completion of the training, the role may transition into a fully employed position with a salary and benefits, subject to a second evaluation.
