    Reporting to the Director of Development, the Manager of Corporate & Foundation Giving plays a vital role on the Chesapeake Bay Outward Bound School's (CBOBS) development team. Specific responsibilities include identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding corporations, public and private foundations, and government agencies in the greater-Baltimore region. This is a frontline fundraising position; the Manager of Corporate & Foundation Giving will strategically match prospective funders with CBOBS funding priorities and oversee the submission of and reporting on all proposals, grants, and budgets. This is not a remote position; the Manager of Corporate & Foundation Giving will be based out of CBOBS' Baltimore headquarters.

    Requirements

    The essential functions include, but are not limited to:

    Portfolio Management

    • Lead a portfolio that raises up to $750,000 annually.
    • Implement and proactively manage a development plan focused on expanding and enhancing corporate and foundation relationships to increase contributed revenue;
    • Proactively research corporate and foundation prospects, and draft compelling letters of inquiry to drive the successful solicitation of five- and six-figure philanthropic commitments;
    • Build and strengthen relationships by conducting 100+ virtual and/ or in-person meetings annually with corporate and foundation executives and staff to explore and cultivate their interest in supporting CBOBS;
    • Develop customized presentations to attract corporate support and craft appealing, value-added recognition opportunities consistent with CBOBS policies;
    • Draft highly competitive proposals for corporate and foundation opportunities, including strong impact statements, budget, and collateral materials for timely submission;
    • Proactively advance prospects and donors through the moves management cycle, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, resulting in secured gifts and annual goal attainment;
    • Implement a dynamic stewardship plan to retain and grow corporate and foundation partners;
    • Ensure outreach and stewardship metrics are recorded appropriately and in a timely fashion for each account utilizing Salesforce;
    • Collaborate with the DC Regional Advancement Officer to actively engage Advisory Board members; and
    • Lead the planning and execution of the annual Cornerstone fundraising event.

    Reporting & Communication

    • Generate monthly and quarterly revenue projections and forecasts using Salesforce;
    • Collaborate with the CBOBS development team, program team, and COO to report on restricted gift deliverables;
    • Build relationships with the CBOBS program and marketing teams to shape donor proposals and engagement strategies;
    • Proactively input prospect data and relevant donor information into Salesforce; and
    • Coordinate timely donor reports with internal staff.

    Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution plus 3-5 years of front-line fundraising experience.
    • Proven experience building and maintaining long-term relationships with fundraising constituents to support their philanthropic goals.
    • Familiarity with and excitement for the Baltimore philanthropic community preferred.
    • Excellent project management skills, initiative, and discretion to achieve moves management objectives in donor outreach, in-person and virtual visits, solicitations, closures, and stewardship.
    • Proven ability to develop lasting relationships with donors via proactive, regular communication.
    • Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
    • Capable of and confident in representing CBOBS energetically to alumni, donors, board members, staff and other stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in using MS Office suite and CRM database experience is required. Familiarity with Salesforce is preferred.

    • Moderate regional travel required. Occasional evening/weekend work activity
