    Position Overview

    SHELTER, Inc. is seeking an experienced Grants Manager to join our team. As a key player in achieving our mission and funding goals, the Grants Manager will oversee all aspects of grant administration, from research to submission, through to compliance and reporting. You will collaborate with various departments to secure funding through governmental, foundation, and corporate grants.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Grant Management: Oversee $20+ million in government and private funding. Manage all aspects of the grants process, including proposal development, submission, and tracking.
    • Proposal Writing & Submission: Work with senior leadership to draft and submit proposals for government contracts, private foundations, and corporate funders.
    • Collaboration: Collaborate with program, data, and finance teams to ensure alignment on grant proposals, data tracking, and compliance.
    • Strategic Planning: Research and track funding opportunities, develop an annual private grant strategy, and cultivate relationships with institutional funders.
    • Team Leadership: Supervise and support the grant writing team, ensuring efficient project oversight and guidance.

    Expected Proficiencies:

    • Strong communication skills with a focus on collaboration.
    • Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
    • Proven success in managing grants and contracts, especially government-related.
    • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools.
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze and innovate.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
    • At least five years of experience in development or fundraising, with a strong track record of submitting successful grant proposals.
    • A minimum of three years of supervisory experience.
    • Reliable personal transportation and a clean DMV record.
    • Ability to pass a criminal background check.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience managing HUD grants.
    • Familiarity with federal grant processes and regulations.
    • Background in non-profit sectors focusing on homelessness, housing, or poverty.
