InfluenceMap is a world-renowned non-profit think tank working on cutting-edge climate and sustainability issues. We are best known for the LobbyMap platform, which analyses corporate policy engagement activities on climate change and biodiversity loss. Our work has been featured in the media globally, used by hundreds of investors, and informed numerous climate campaigns. Other workstreams are the FinanceMap — the climate credentials of the financial sector, and the Carbon Majors platform – which tracks emissions from the worlds’ largest polluters. With offices in London, New York, Tokyo, Seoul, and São Paulo, this is an opportunity to be part of a team of 70+ friendly and dynamic professionals and to help shape our culture as we continue to grow and evolve as an organization. You will also have the chance to work with our global network of partners to help develop and share our cutting-edge content. There will be opportunities for overseas travel to ensure cohesion with our global teams.

We are seeking an Analyst who will be a key member of our Japan team working with our global teams to generate content specific to Japan. This includes our analysis of Japanese corporate influence over climate and energy policy which has had considerable impact within the media, companies, and the financial community in Japan (see Japanese Industry Groups and Climate Policy). Full training in our research methods and how to effectively communicate our results will be provided. You will also work on projects related to our collaboration in Japan (Japan Energy Transition Initiative) and the role will involve significant interactions with our global teams in London and Seoul as well as our growing office in Tokyo where you will be based.

To be successful in this role at InfluenceMap, you should have:

▪ Native Japanese language skills and fluency in English (written and spoken)

▪ 1–2 years’ full-time experience in a Japanese business working environment, with a good understanding of Japanese and Western business cultures. We will also consider applications from new graduates.

▪ Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with a strong attention to detail

▪ Excellent research skills utilizing different sources, with an interest in investigative research

▪ Excellent communication and team working skills, with high proficiency in office IT software

▪ Able to execute tasks in a timely manner with the ability to follow precise instructions

▪ Right to work in Japan

Details of Benefits:

• This is a full-time employment
• The location is Japan at our Tokyo office, with flexible remote working possible
• A base salary of 4.5 million JPY
• 14 days paid vacation per year and an extra day of paid holiday after each year of service (capped at 20 days) + national holidays

募集概要

日本プロジェクトチームの一員として、グローバルチームとの協力のもと、日本に特化したデータコンテンツの調査・作成に携わっていただきます。

業務は主に、気候変動とエネルギー政策に対する日本企業・業界団体の立ち位置の分析と関連するコンテンツの作成が中心となります（報告書：日本の業界団体と気候変動政策を参照）。採用者にはアナリストとしてInfluenceMapの調査方法論および結果の取りまとめについての研修を受けていただきます。

InfluenceMapの分析はデータドリブンであり、正確性、一貫性、きめ細かさが求められます。また、データは国内外の機関投資家やメディアを含む各界のステークホルダーによって利用されるため、効果的なコンテンツの発信とコミュニケーションが重要となります。

東京オフィスを拠点に、ロンドンおよび他のグローバルチーム、そして外部ステークホルダーと連携する機会が多くあります。

仕事内容

▪ InfluenceMap独自のITシステムと方法論に従った業界団体、企業、金融機関の分析・評価（スコアリング）
