    Description

    The Black Swan Academy is looking for reliable on-call van drivers that enjoy working with youth to ensure they are transported in a safe, timely manner to and from destinations throughout DC. This position will report directly to the Co-Executive Director, Operations.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Ensure youth, staff and/or volunteers are transported home safely from program site;
    • Transport youth, volunteers and staff to and from off site events;
    • Create supportive, welcoming environment for youth;
    • Pick up rental vans & keep vans clean;
    • Communicate with program staff;
    • Attend mandatory staff meetings and trainings;
    • Complete defensive driving course

    Qualifications:

    • Must be 18 years or older;
    • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record for past 5 years;
    • Demonstrated experience operating and navigating a 15-passenger van or larger;
    • Familiarity driving in the Greater DC area, specifically SE & NE DC;
    • 1-2 years experience working with youth;
    • Strong time management skills;
    • Sensitivity to people of diverse educational, ethnic, and economic backgrounds;
    • Secure DCPS clearances.

    Schedule:

    • On-Call - Scheduled as needed with notice
    • Shifts will primarily fall on weekdays between 3 - 8:30 PM,
    • Occasional availability on some weekends and hours outside of the aforementioned schedule
