    Description

    Clubhouse International is seeking a Development Manager. The ideal candidate will fill a critical role on the fundraising team for Clubhouse International, providing day-to-day management of key fundraising functions but also serving as a strategic partner in identifying and executing strategies to achieve fundraising growth. The Development Manager works under the direction of the Director of Development but is most effective as a full partner in achieving the fundraising goals of the organization and interfacing with marketing and program staff at Clubhouse International.

    Fundraising responsibilities are varied and provide an opportunity for an aspiring fundraising professional to gain experience in developing effective strategies for growth.

    This is a fully remote position. Candidates may live anywhere they can interface with Eastern Time Zone (US) working hours. Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.

    Major Duties:

    • Participates in the development and execution of the annual fundraising plan, with significant responsibility for individual giving.
    • Manages and oversees the donor database, including gift data entry and regular updating of donor and prospect information to assure the database is accurate, up-to-date, and fully utilized; manages reporting and queries; and develops/manages automations and workflows to support fundraising. Monitors data health and ensures data hygiene is maintained in the CRM.
    • Manages and identifies other operational tools on behalf of fundraising efforts including the online giving platform, Zapier, SimplyNoted, Combined Federal Campaign, etc.
    • Manages monthly reconciliation of donor gifts to accounting receipts, ensuring accurate tracking/balancing throughout the year. Produces monthly fundraising revenue reports and KPIs.
    • Manages donor communications such as acknowledgments, tax statements, and pledge reminders. Responsible for maintaining donor files related thereto.
    • Works in partnership with the Director of Development to ensure excellent stewardship of donor relationships, which includes but is not limited to timely and effective donor acknowledgments, keeping good records of contact and conversations, etc. Interacts effectively with donors of all levels. May be assigned a small portfolio of mid-level donors to develop.
    • Has primary management responsibility in partnership with the Director of Development for planning and execution of Clubhouse Giving Day (CGD). In addition to fundraising for Clubhouse International, CGD includes outreach and recruitment of participating Clubhouses; liaising with platform service providers for technical and logistical management; offering support and strategic guidance to participating Clubhouses through webinars, meetings, and email support; and strategizing with the team about how best to continue growing and strengthening CGD. Supports other events as needed.
    • Monitors charity ratings and evaluator sites, ensuring information is accurate and up-to-date.
    • Supports the Development Committee of the Board of Directors and other Board members as needed.
    • Supports other Clubhouse International activities and special projects such as national or international conferences as needed.

    Experience and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 3-4 years of related experience in fundraising and development operations.
    • Demonstrated successful experience with effectively managing a donor database for maximum effectiveness. Demonstrated proficiency in working with digital fundraising solutions and platforms, i.e. peer to peer solutions, gift processing platforms, or the equivalent. Strong preference for experience with Virtuous CRM.
    • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Proficiency in social media platforms is a plus. Willingness and ability to learn new software and systems.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fully remote organization, multi-task, and prioritize workflow.
    • A self-starter with very strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail, who can drive results and manage competing stakeholders while still meeting critical deadlines.
    • Familiarity and knowledge of nonprofit best practices, including U.S. IRS tax law, is preferred.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to compose, edit, and proofread correspondence and other documents.
    • Ability to represent the organization and interface with all levels of staff, board, volunteers, donors, potential donors, and representatives of member Clubhouses while maintaining a professional, diplomatic, tactful, and helpful attitude and behavior.
    • Ability to protect individual and organizational confidentiality.
    • Willingness and ability to work as part of a team including maintaining successful work relationships with peers, colleagues, and constituents.
    • Culturally competent in working with international stakeholders. Fluency in English is required, but fluency in other languages is an added plus.
