Program Summary:
The Employment Team is dedicated to providing specialized assistance to resettled immigrants and refugees in their pursuit of employment, aiming to foster financial security and independence. Our team concentrates on essential aspects such as resume writing, conducting mock interviews, and achieving retention goals to facilitate the establishment of sustainable careers. Functioning as intermediaries between employers and clients, the Employment Team is committed to ensuring successful job placements. Additionally, our services extend to achieving job upgrades, and attaining long-term career stability through building long-lasting employer partnerships.
Job Summary/Definition:
The Job Developer’s essential responsibility is to identify and create employment opportunities that align with the skill and language level of newly arrived refugees and asylees. This role focuses on expanding NSC's employer network and fostering new partnerships. The Job Developer collaborates closely with NSC staff, clients, employers, and community partners, while ensuring compliance with funder requirements and timely reporting. Reporting to the Manager of Employer Partnerships, this role requires a proactive approach, attention to detail, and strong communication skills. The position is key to supporting NSC’s Employment Team in building strong employer partnerships, aimed at addressing our job placement needs and helping clients achieve self-sufficiency in a timely manner.

Education/Experience Requirements:
Minimum Experience: 2+ years of Career Coaching or Job Developing experience is preferred. Working within the refugee and immigrant community is a plus. Bilingual skills are preferred, with preference given to Swahili, French Spanish, or Arabic languages.
Minimum Education: BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study or 1 + experience in a related field.
Licensure: Valid driver’s license with access to reliable transportation is preferred but not required
Location and hours:
This is a full-time, in-person position based in our Philadelphia office with potential for hybrid work as team needs allow. Our regular hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and this position requires working occasional evenings and weekends. We have COVID-19 safety protocols in place, and we revisit and update them in accordance with city, state, and federal guidelines.
