    Background

    OASIS is a California-based nonprofit organization with a mission to advance education and choice for women and girls in the Sahel region of Africa. We work to create a healthy and resilient Sahel where women and girls are educated and free to make critical life choices. We focus on three strategic priorities: 1) developing, strengthening and scaling-up evidence-based programs that complement education and health systems; 2) conducting formative and operations research to inform education and sexual and reproductive health policy and practice; 3) building local leadership and advocacy capacity to support an enabling environment for women and girls to thrive.

    Description

    OASIS seeks a Program Assistant (PA) to provide administrative and fundraising support. The PA reports to the OASIS Executive Team and will collaborate closely with both the Berkeley-based team and our partners in the Sahel. OASIS is a small team with a big vision, so the PA will have the opportunity to contribute in a variety of areas to our organization’s work. The PA can work remotely, however it is required they work one day a week in-person with our San Francisco or Berkeley-based teams.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    1. Fundraising/Development (50%)
      • New donors/proposals tech support and management
      • Plan fundraising events
      • Support implementation of fundraising strategy
      • Manage OASIS Development & Revenue packet
    2. Operations, Communications and HR (50%)
      • Manage contracts and MoUs with partners, update yearly
      • Reporting to the board and donors biannually
      • IT support to the team where needed
      • Manage OASIS drive, keeping things organized and nomenclature consistent – and help the team do the same
      • Manage consultant contracts – keep up to date yearly
      • Intern recruitment/management
      • Manage newsletter/mailchimp database
      • Project manage graphic design (create OASIS brochure)
      • Administrative, logistic and communications support for Elles du Sahel
      • Program Support as needed

    Required Qualifications

    • B.A./B.S. Degree, or equivalent experience
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Highly organized and able to prioritize, with great attention to detail
    • Natural problem solver who takes initiative
    • Flexible and friendly work style, with a sense of humor
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite
    • Proficiency in French

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Previous experience in development and/or administrative support for nonprofit organizations
    • Proficiency in Salesforce, Mailchimp and Squarespace, or ability to learn quickly

    Salary and Benefits

    The hourly wage is $20-25/hour, depending on experience. The position is full time and on a temporary contract through May 2025, with the potential to expand to a permanent position if needed.
