Association’s Mission:
California Primary Care Association's mission is to lead and position community clinics, health centers and networks through advocacy, education, and services as key players in the healthcare delivery system to improve the health status of their communities.
Purpose of Position:
The Associate Director of Federal Affairs and Policy will position CPCA (“Association”) and its 501(c)(4) affiliate, California Primary Care Association Advocates (“Advocates”) as a California leader in the health care industry and a driver of health equity. This position will support the development of key public policy issues that impact community health centers and their patients including the research, analysis, advocacy, coalition building, and technical assistance that advances the Association’s public policy platform. The position will also support the Association’s federal advocacy efforts with a focus on relationship building, advocacy, and policy development. CPCA has also declared itself as an anti-racist organization and, as such, all staff members are asked to apply a health equity lens to their work while helping to support community health centers respond to the needs of their diverse patient population.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree preferred. An understanding of healthcare issues in California and how federal policy impacts health-related issues. Experience with community health centers, member-driven associations, or non-profit organizations is also preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
Association Expectation:
Due to network security and hybrid work this position requires the employee to have a cell phone with a data plan and home internet service, both are reimbursed at a set rate each month. All hires are required to maintain residence in California. This is a hybrid position with employees coming into the office in downtown Sacramento.
Compensation: $84,250 - $89,206
