    Description

    ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND

At Eva’s Village, we are committed to empowering individuals in need by providing hope, support, and resources to help them lead healthy, stable, and productive lives. Our work focuses on people struggling with hunger, homelessness, substance use disorders, and mental health challenges. We are looking for passionate, dedicated team members who share our mission to make a lasting, positive impact in the lives of others.

    JOB SUMMARY

Eva’s Village seeks a dynamic, relationship-driven fundraiser to build and manage a strong portfolio of foundations and corporate partners. The Institutional Giving Manager will drive growth by identifying and soliciting new funding opportunities while also nurturing and expanding existing relationships. This role involves deeply understanding donor priorities, educating them about Eva’s Village’s services, and securing funding through effective communication, cultivation, and stewardship.

The Institutional Giving Manager, reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, will be a key member on the development team, collaborating with the Individual Giving Manager, Grant Writer, Digital Media Specialist and Database Coordinator, to achieve fundraising goals.

With significant support from our seasoned grant writer who researches grant opportunities, drafts proposals and manages our grants tracking system, the Institutional Giving Manager will also research funding opportunities, collaborate with the Grant Writer to develop comprehensive and compelling proposals, ensure proposals are submitted on a timely basis, and approve reports prior to submission.

Additionally, the Institutional Giving Manager will work with the Grant Writer to identify, write and submit Government Grant proposals, as well as execute these contracts. The overall fundraising goal for both Institutional Grants and Government Grants is $5.5 million.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Fundraising

    • Together with the Chief Advancement Officer, develop and execute a comprehensive institutional giving strategy, with an emphasis on securing new foundation and corporate grants and increasing support from existing partners (e.g., develop a corporate program with volunteer opportunities and benefits).
    • Act as the primary contact for Institutional Donors by establishing effective relationships with each; providing ongoing communication; delivering updates and reports as needed; and understanding their capacity to give.
    • Research, prospect and pursue new philanthropic funding opportunities, including monitoring news and press about foundations, corporations and organizations for relevant announcements, industry trends, and public and private requests for proposals.
    • Identify and create opportunities for donor recognition and stewardship, ensuring that institutional donors feel valued, appreciated, and connected to the organization.
    • Utilize donor database to track donor interactions, manage relationships, and analyze fundraising performance metrics to inform decision-making.
    • In collaboration with Grant Writer, craft compelling letters of inquiry, grant proposals, reports, and strategic communications on behalf of Eva’s Village.
    • Alongside the Grant Writer, track all grant deliverables, ensuring timely delivery of grant requirements.
    • Provide regular updates and report to leadership on institutional giving progress, successes, and challenges.
    • Stay informed about trends and best practices in institutional giving and philanthropy and proactively adapt strategies to maximize fundraising effectiveness.
    • Work closely with the COO & Finance Department on the creation of program budgets, as well as completion of Government Grant Contract paperwork.

    Donor Relations

    • Provide continued communication with institutions including phone calls, written communications, on-site visits and visits to their offices.
    • Develop and propose new creative strategies for donor cultivation, such as donor briefings, cultivation events, smaller fundraisers, strategic partnerships, etc.
    • Work with the Chief Advancement Officer to plan proper and effective donor-facing marketing/communication materials including, but not limited to flyers, brochures, and other printed materials detailing our programs, deliverables and client success stories.
    • Represent the organization at events, meetings, civic groups, and other potential institutional donor cultivation opportunities to promote Eva’s Village and build awareness of the organization's mission and impact.
    • Manage the Fund-A-Meal Corporate Volunteerism Program (where corporate groups volunteer in our Community Kitchen for a donation) in collaboration with the Volunteer Coordinator.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 3+ years of experience in managing institutional relationships and securing significant gifts from foundations and corporations (experience in social services or behavioral health a plus). Demonstrated track record of identifying, securing, and stewarding 5- and 6- figure institutional gifts.
    • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to persuasively articulate the organization's mission and impact to a variety of audiences through written materials, presentations, and interpersonal interactions.
    • Strong relationship-building skills, with an ability to navigate complex partnerships and identify mutually beneficial opportunities. An entrepreneurial mindset, capable of driving results in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
    • Experience in creating collateral pieces for donors.
    • Experience with donor management software (Raisers Edge preferred) to track donor interactions, manage relationships, and generate reports effectively.
    • The ability to handle pressure with equanimity and to thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and accountability-focused organization; a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude.
    • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for event coverage.
    • Experience with Canva, Photoshop or other design software a plus.
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
