Job Summary
Day One seeks a dynamic full-time Community Educator based in Staten Island to join our Training Team. The Community Educator will deliver preventive and informative workshops on teen dating abuse in schools and youth-serving spaces to young people in grades 6 through 8, school-based staff, youth-serving professionals, and parents/caregivers.
The Community Educator will deliver Day One’s teen dating abuse prevention curriculum throughout Staten Island, conduct outreach, attend professional development opportunities, and link young people and families to resources that aid in the prevention and intervention of intimate partner violence (IPV).
This role is a great fit for someone with a strong connection to the Staten Island community and a special interest in engaging with middle school students, their teachers/educators, and the caregivers in the school community.
About Day One
Since 2003, Day One has been the only organization in New York devoting its full resources to preventing IPV among young people. Day One partners with youth to end dating abuse and domestic violence through preventive education, supportive services, legal advocacy, and leadership development. Our multi-disciplinary approach brings together a highly collaborative staff with expertise in legal assistance, social services, and education service provision. Through the Training Team, Day One educates young people in schools and youth programs about IPV, consent, social-emotional learning, and healthy relationships and trains professionals and parents to support young people who have witnessed or experienced abuse firsthand.
Day One recognizes that anti-violence work is emotionally demanding and professionally complex. The person assuming this role must be comfortable working both in-person and virtually.

Salary and Benefits
The annual salary range for this position is $55,000-$58,000 USD, depending on experience and language capacity. Day One offers a benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, 401k with match, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, and generous vacation.
