    DISH is currently a fiscally sponsored project of the Tides Center and is in the process of becoming an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The AR/Finance Analyst is a full-time position reporting to the Controller. The AR/Finance Analyst is responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping transactions related to Accounts Receivable and Cash Receipts including preparing monthly contract invoices in addition to special projects. The AR/Finance Analyst is responsible for applying and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial data. The AR/Finance Analyst will provide key accounting support to the Controller and work with the AP Accountant on a regular basis.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Accounting

      • Manage accounts receivable including checks, wire transfers, stocks and individual donations, including those made through Classy.
      • Support processing of rental income particularly tenant payments as needed.
      • Process all cash receipts in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
      • Assign coding and record account receivables journal entries.
      • Reconcile, manage and monitor all accounts, pledges and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
      • Track and communicate with DISH team on major donors and individual contributions.
      • Coordinate with controller to track pledges receivable and restricted/unrestricted net assets for DISH.
      • Assist in payroll processing and related integration into general ledger.
      • Coordinate with Accounts Payable function as needed.
      • Perform month-end account analysis.
      • Support Controller to resolve all reconciling items on a timely basis.
      • Provide support to the Controller as requested.

    Grant and Contract Management

    • Ensure all expenses are allocated to the appropriate grants and contracts based on the established cost allocation methodology.
    • Prepare monthly contract invoices for submission, ensuring all necessary backup documentation is included.
    • Monitor contract spending and alert the Controller of any potential under or overspending.
    • Support grant tracking and including producing financial reports for review and submission.

    Other Duties

      • Assist with requests during the organization’s annual financial audit.

    QUALIFICATIONS

      • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a non-profit accounting, including experience in financial planning & analysis.
      • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles.
    • Experience preparing financial statements utilizing an accounting software system.
      • Experience with cloud-based systems, in particular, Intacct and/or Carbon a plus
    • Strong project management and process improvement experience with demonstrated success in creating efficient processes, managing multiple priorities, and overseeing projects with multiple stakeholders.
    • Strong administration and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
    • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
    • Must also demonstrate excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.

    LOCATION

    This position will be in DISH’s offices.

    COMPENSATION

    This will be a full-time, exempt position. The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $90,000 commensurate with experience plus a full benefits package including medical, vision, dental, vacation, paid holidays, sick leave, and a retirement plan.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to perform moderately difficult manipulative tasks such as typing, writing, etc. Must be able to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. This individual must have the ability to attend meetings, sit, listen, and use a computer keyboard and mouse up to 7.5 hours per day. Frequently required to use a computer, phone, copier, and fax machine.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Incumbent will work in a shared office space with moderate noise level and periodic interruptions as well as occasionally working in one or more of our Single Room Occupancy, permanent housing settings with onsite social services for formerly homeless individuals, many of whom have significant mental health, physical health and/or substance use issues. Most of the buildings are about 100 yrs old & have had varying capital & cosmetic improvements. Typical shifts are weekday/daytime. Special projects may require occasional schedule changes. Local travel will most often be conducted traveling to and from DISH sites, partner agency sites and government buildings.
