    The CUNY SPS Office of Student Disability Services seeks a qualified individual interested in working to support students with disabilities in higher education to fill the position of Note Taker. The successful candidate will provide academic support services to ensure that students with disabilities have access to the curriculum.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Reporting to the Student Disability Services Specialist, the Student Disability Services Note Taker/College Assistant will:

    • Take comprehensive, detailed notes at each class meeting
    • Prepare notes in a logical format and send electronic version to Student Disability Services within one business day of the class meeting
    • Attend all class meetings, as indicated on class syllabus, including ancillary lectures, performances, workshops, etc.
    • Use School-issued laptop, tablet, digital recorder, or smart pen as directed
    • Perform other related duties as assigned

    Preferred Minimum:

    • High school diploma/GED

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Prior experience working with students in a higher education setting
    • Experience with disability services, accommodations, or accessibility practices
    • Proven ability to meet deadlines
    • Responsible, reliable and able to maintain confidentiality of students using service
    • Excellent note-taking and documentation skills
    • Experience operating assistive technology, tape recording devices, or other tools as needed
    • Transcription and/or keyboarding skills
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
    • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
