    The Survivor Advocacy Center of the Finger Lakes (SACFL) seeks an EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (ED)

    The ED Reports directly to the SACFL Board of Directors. The position acts as administrator of services, exercising oversight of organization budgets, and is directly responsible for personnel, recruitment, finance, policy and procedures, fundraising, and grant procurement and compliance. ED represents staff as liaison to the SACFL Board of Directors.

    Desired Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Marketing/Public Relations, Public Administration, or related field.

    Experience in grant writing and fundraising.

    Interpersonal relations skills, and experience in public speaking.

    Experience in management and supervision, ideally in a not-for-profit organization.

    Prior fiscal management experience including budget development.

    Understanding of and sensitivity to domestic and sexual violence issues.

    Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

    Computer literacy and familiarity with appropriate office software, e.g. Microsoft Office

    Salary range: $70K-80K

    Survivor Advocacy Center of the Finger Lakes (SACFL) Job Description

    TITLE: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: FTE

    Reports to the SACFL Board of Directors. Provides administrative and direct services. Oversees and is directly responsible for personnel, recruitment, finance, policy and procedures, fundraising, grant procurement and supervision. Represents staff as liaison on the SACFL Board of Directors.

    Administration: (85% of time)

    1. Locates and procures grants and contract revenue sources to fund current and proposed programs; and develops and oversees fundraising activities for SACFL.

    Responsible for serving as agency liaison with all federal, state, and local agencies.

    Maintains and coordinates contractual relationships with funding sources.

      Administers the agency’s programs, according to the organization’s mission and vision.

      1. Develops new programs according to the agency’s priorities.
      2. Responsible for overseeing equal employment and affirmative action in all areas of

      recruitment, hiring, compensation, fringe benefits, staff development and training,

      transfers, promotions, work assignments and other conditions of employment.

      1. Responsible for all financial aspects of the agency along with providing all records, financial and personnel to the independent auditing company, the board of directors, and all funders.
      2. Responsible for overseeing the SACFL sexual/rape crisis, domestic, stalking and dating, violence and child abuse programs including the residential DV safe dwelling, and all policies and procedures.
      3. Acts as liaison to the Board of Directors, keeping them informed of agency

      operations by providing adequate information for carrying out the policy-making process.

      1. Assists in agency budget with Board of Directors Treasurer, Finance Committee and contractual accountant to administer agency’s programs within budgetary provisions and limitations, maintaining an adequate system for proper accounting of funds.
      2. Responsible for managerial staff evaluations, promotions, changes in hours, job descriptions, etc. Responsible for working with managerial staff for staff evaluations, promotions and job changes.
      3. Keeps informed of developments and trends in the program’s operations and stays alert to changing community needs.
      4. Ensures the development and maintenance of acceptable standards of professional practice.
      5. Serves as agency liaison with community agencies and resources. Develops and

      maintains appropriate community relations, maintaining responsibilities for interpreting the goals and function of the agency to the community.

      1. Responsible for media and community relations.
      2. Oversees supervision of SACFL education prevention and outreach programs.
      3. Oversees Supervision of Volunteer Program.
      4. Completes New York State Rape crisis certification program and domestic violence training and completes ongoing trainings annually.
      5. Prepares reports according to timeline: i.e. monthly Board reports, quarter and year-end statistical reports, etc.
      6. Oversees and reviews confidentiality of client-counselor and research information and files according to New York State and Federal Laws.
      7. Responsible for reviewing and implementing all necessary insurance policies and procedures to protect the agency and all programs

      Direct and Other Services: It is the function of the Executive Director to (as needed due to limited staff, funding, etc.): (15% of time)

      1. Maintain a basic understanding of legal procedures and a familiarity with domestic,

      sexual, stalking, dating violence and child abuse laws.

      1. Attend continuing education training as possible to obtain or maintain professional

      credentials.

      1. Develop and maintain client confidential files and other documentation as needed.
      2. Provide presentations regarding issues of domestic, sexual, stalking, dating violence, and child abuse services and issues to the community and media; and oversee the dissemination of program literature throughout the community.
