    Description

    Position Overview:

    The Fund for the City of New York seeks a Project Manager candidate who is a highly motivated self-starter with a strong passion for promoting civic service and innovation, possesses well-developed written and oral communication skills, top-notch organizational capacity, and is able to work independently and exercise careful discretion over multiple project initiatives.

    This position will report to the Executive Vice President, and requires that the successful candidate independently manage all of the components needed to successfully implement many of the Funds signature programs.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage established, well-regarded core programs, ensure optimal program quality, and constantly seek opportunities for improvement and optimal program impact
    • Manage the daily tasks related to program planning, promotion, recruitment, and event logistics
    • Promptly and flexibly liaise with various program stakeholders, including educational and civic leaders, city agency officials, and Community Planning Fellows
    • Manage the planning and coordination of relevant meetings, preparing briefing materials and other project related documentation as directed, and record meeting notes to follow-up appropriately
    • Write and/or edit compelling short bios for Sloan Award nominees and Community Planning fellows, and create educational materials and presentations for weekly Community Planning workshops, and other activities, as needed
    • Collaborate with internal teams cross-functionally and be the main point of contact for multiple projects at a given time
    • Oversee all components of project support, including managing project stakeholders and their deliverables, communicating efficiently and appropriately across all channels, and ensuring all project timelines stay on track
    • Represent the Fund in external settings, including panel gatherings, public meetings, and other engagements as assigned

    Qualifications:

    The successful candidate must be flexible, dedicated and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications include:

    • A bachelor’s degree; an advanced degree in humanities, public policy, public administration, social science, or related fields preferred
    • At least 3-5 years of project management experience, and the aptitude to work with minimal direct supervision and manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Ability to work well within a multicultural environment, with a diverse array of stakeholders
    • Superb interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
    • Experience with artificial intelligence platforms and prompt engineering is a plus, particularly in designing and implementing strategies that optimize AI-driven solutions for enhanced productivity and engagement
    • Highly resourceful and organized, with sharp critical thinking, work-flow and time management skills
    • Passionate about social service, service learning and education, with an orientation toward and commitment to social justice, and cultural equity
    • Strong understanding of the non-profit and public sector
    • A high degree of competency using virtual communication platforms and MS Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
