    Job Title: President, Korea Inter-Parliamentary Exchange Center

    Organization Overview:

    The Korea Inter-Parliamentary Exchange Center (KIPEC) is a nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C., established in 2024. KIPEC's mission is to enhance the relationship and foster mutual understanding between the National Assembly of Korea and the United States Congress. Located at 1660 L St. NW, Washington, D.C., the Center will play a pivotal role in bridging the legislative and policy dialogue between both countries, addressing key areas such as legislation, diplomacy, national security, trade, and defense.

    Position Summary:

    KIPEC is seeking a visionary and dynamic president to lead and expand the organization's influence and network, primarily with the U.S. Congress. The Director will be responsible for managing the Center's operations, driving its strategic initiatives, and fostering collaborations with other think tanks and policy organizations. This role requires a leader with proven expertise in U.S. legislative networks, and a strong background in one or more of the following areas: diplomacy, national security, trade, defense, and legislative policy.

    The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with the U.S. Congress, exceptional leadership and management skills, and the ability to build strong networks across think tanks and related institutions. The President will also work closely with the Korean National Assembly and the Center’s Board of Directors.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Strengthen and expand interparliamentary cooperation between the National Assembly of Korea and the U.S. Congress.
    • Serve as the liaison between key partners in the U.S. and Korea, including lawmakers and policymakers.
    • Lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives aligned with the Center's mission.
    • Monitor key legislative and policy decisions of the U.S. Congress particularly in areas related to defense, diplomacy, trade and other related area.
    • Oversee staff and day-to-day operations to ensure the Center's success.

    Qualifications:

    • 10+ years of relevant experience in legislative, diplomatic, national security, trade, or policy-related roles.
    • Expertise or experience in U.S. legislative affairs, with a network within the U.S. Congress.
    • Ability to collaborate with other institutions including think tanks
    • Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing staff and overseeing operations.
    • U.S. work authorization is required.

    Term and Compensation:

    Term: 2 years

    Salary: Negotiable based on qualifications and experience. The specific terms will be discussed and finalized during the interview process.
