About the Randall Museum
The Randall Museum is owned, maintained and administered by the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department. The Museum was the inspiration of Josephine D. Randall, San Francisco's first Superintendent of Recreation, a position she held for a quarter of a century during which time we achieved national recognition as one of the most outstanding services of its kind. In 1951, the museum opened in its current facility on a 16-acre park overlooking San Francisco Bay. When it opened the museum was to be "a place that would foster a love of science, natural history and the arts." The museum provides exhibits, classes, workshops, presentations, special events and many other hands-on learning experiences for children and adults.
Position Description
The Randall Museum's new Curator II position is responsible for overall administration of the Museum Shops, including the woodworking facility, the STEM lab and other specialty fabrication workshop areas. Responsibilities include overall maintenance of shop equipment and safety equipment; inventories of shop supplies and record-keeping; overall safety procedures and training related to proper use of potentially hazardous equipment and machinery by staff and students.
