    Description

    Position Summary

    The Outreach Coordinator, an AmeriCorps member, is responsible for fostering partnerships with local nonprofits and BIPOC leaders, facilitating volunteer recruitment for single-day volunteer programs, and engaging young people in service trips and professional development opportunities. This role requires strong communication skills, a commitment to equity and inclusion, travel to various partners across Baltimore, and the ability to effectively manage outreach efforts and youth engagement initiatives. The Outreach Coordinator will play a pivotal role in connecting individuals and organizations to meaningful social impact opportunities while advancing the mission of the From: Baltimore program.

    Key Responsibilities

    Social Impact Saturday

    • Spearheaded marketing and communications efforts promoting monthly volunteer events for Black and Brown youth and the wider community (i.e. Social Impact Saturday, Pathways to Purpose panel, etc.)
    • Write a story for the monthly newsletter for partners, participants, and program stakeholders.
    • Eliminate barriers to participation by providing transportation and connections to community resources and services.
    • Recruit and manage relationships with eight Social Impact Saturday nonprofit partners.
    • Identify volunteer needs and connect organizations with AC Volunteer Engagement Coordinators.
    • Administer community engagement projects to enhance the capacity of the eight nonprofit partners.

    Together We Build

    • Build relationships with four schools.
    • Create and implement a workshop educating students on the historic connection between redlining and the organization's mission.
    • Promote the program and recruit participants.

    Civic Accelerator

    • Recruit and engage ten young adults aged 18-22 and 10th graders for a transformative seven-day service trip outside of Baltimore, followed by seven months of intensive volunteering, professional development, and networking.
    • Promote the program through social media.
