    Description

    Position Summary:

    The Program Manager for Insurance and Resiliency Services is responsible for overseeing and coordinating programs that enhance community resilience by providing insurance solutions and supporting disaster preparedness initiatives. This role involves strategic planning, program implementation, stakeholder engagement, and performance monitoring to ensure communities and individuals are well-equipped to manage risks and recover from challenges.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Program Development and Management:

      • Design, implement, and manage programs focused on insurance education, disaster preparedness, and resiliency-building initiatives.
      • Develop and monitor program budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance with funding requirements.
      • Conduct needs assessments to identify gaps in insurance coverage and resilience strategies within target communities.
      • Coordinate the delivery of services, workshops, and educational materials related to insurance options and risk mitigation.
      • The Program Manager conducts one-one counseling with new and existing homeowners to assess their insurance needs and through the process of obtaining adequate insurance.

    Community Engagement:

      • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community organizations, insurance providers, government agencies, and funders.
      • Coordinate Insurance seminars in targeted communities and ensure that insurance topics are part of all our workshop sessions.
      • Collaborate with partners to develop innovative solutions to improve insurance access and community resilience.
      • Represent the organization in meetings, forums, and public engagements related to insurance and resiliency services.

    Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

      • Establish metrics to evaluate program success and track outcomes.
      • Prepare detailed reports on program performance for internal review and external stakeholders.
      • Identify opportunities for program improvement and implement changes as needed.

    Capacity Building and Advocacy:

      • Provide training and support to community leaders and organizations on insurance literacy and disaster preparedness.
      • Advocate for policies and practices that enhance accessibility to insurance and promote community resilience.

    Qualifications:

    Education and Experience:

      • Bachelor’s degree in public administration, Business, Risk Management, or a related field
      • Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, insurance services, disaster resilience, or a related area.

    Skills and Competencies:

      • Strong knowledge of insurance products, risk management strategies, and community resilience principles.
      • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage budgets.
      • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in public speaking and relationship building.
      • Analytical skills to evaluate program effectiveness and implement data-driven improvements.

    Other Requirements:

      • Familiarity with local and federal disaster preparedness and insurance regulations.
      • Willingness to travel as needed for meetings and events.
