    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Development Director leads assigned fundraising projects and is responsible for supporting United Community’s corporate outreach including managing corporate volunteerism and raising corporate support, cultivating, and stewarding mid-level donors, supporting grant research, and creating pathways to engage emerging leaders. This position includes important departmental operations, donor tracking, donor research, proposal writing and submission, managing gift entry/acknowledgments and implementation of the Department's policies and procedures. The Development Director will be responsible for supporting the Chief Revenue Officer in the execution of an overall comprehensive fundraising plan that includes an array of fundraising strategies that generate revenue in support of United Community’s mission and vision. This position supervises the Fundraising Operations Manager.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:

      1. Strategic Fundraising: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic fundraising plan, monitor progress regularly, and adjust strategies as needed.
      2. Donor Engagement: Achieve significant growth in major gifts and cultivate new major donors through targeted engagement strategies. Increase the overall donor base substantially.
      3. Community Partnerships: Establish new strategic partnerships with civic, faith, and corporate communities, and secure increased financial, in-kind, and volunteer support.
      4. Event Management: Plan and execute major fundraising events with innovative approaches that increase event revenue year over year.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Corporate and Foundation Outreach

    • Identify and conduct research on potential corporate partners and sponsors
    • Create and manage tracking and reporting of corporate prospects within CRM system
    • Cultivate and steward corporate sponsors and partners, ensuring recognition and benefits are properly delivered
    • Work with program and volunteer staff to create meaningful and customized employee engagement opportunities for corporate supporters
    • Manage and track corporate volunteerism within CRM systems
    • Assist with creation of corporate partner and sponsorship opportunity template
    • Work with program staff to identify sponsorship opportunities

    Mid-Level Donors

    • Manage a portfolio of mid-level donors contributing $1,000 - $5,000 annually
    • Cultivate and steward donors based on department stewardship matrix
    • Assist with creation of and manage a mid-level donor recognition society
    • Research, identify and assist with cultivation of mid-level donors with capacity for major gifts
    • Research, identify and assist with cultivation of lower-lever donors with capacity for mid-level giving

    Grant and Donor Research

    • Support Chief Revenue Officer in identifying potential corporate grant support
    • Assist and manage the cultivation and stewardship of corporate grants
    • Assist with corporate grant proposal submission and reporting

    Emerging Leaders

    • Research best practices for engaging emerging leaders and implement an engagement strategy
    • Identify prospective emerging leaders with a propensity for the mission of United Community
