    The award-winning Arlekin Players Theatre is seeking a Development Coordinator to join our growing team! Led by Artistic Director Igor Golyak, who the New York Times recently cited as “among the most inventive directors working in the United States,” Arlekin produces in Boston, New York and abroad, both in-person and virtually. The Development Coordinator is a key support role within the theatre’s small and dynamic staff, focusing on systems design, donor management, and the seamless integration of key technologies. This role requires a highly organized, tech-savvy individual who excels at maintaining donor relations, supporting senior staff, and ensuring smooth operations across development activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of juggling multiple priorities with humor and persistence. The position is hybrid with an opportunity for part-time or full-time work for the right candidate.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee, support the set up, and maintain the theatre’s donor database.
    • Design and manage the integration of systems in collaboration with the General Manager and bookkeeper.
    • Create and curate donor lists for campaigns, events, and communications.
    • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of donor records and other key databases.
    • Provide support to Artistic Director and Producing Director, including scheduling, tracking tasks, and following up on key actions
    • Assist with contact management and to-do tracking to keep initiatives moving forward.
    • Conduct research on potential donors
    • Assist in managing low- and mid-level donor communications and relationship-building efforts.
    • Support VIP guests during lobby activities, shows, and special events.
    • Coordinate donor stewardship activities, ensuring timely and thoughtful engagement.
    • Support the planning and running of fundraising campaigns, coordinating logistics and communications.
    • Provide hands-on planning and running of special events, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for all attendees.

    Most work will be conducted at Arlekin's studio at 368 Hillside Avenue in Needham, MA, just two blocks from the Needham Heights T-stop. Arlekin also performs in Boston and New York, so occasional short-term travel may be required.

    Position reports to the Producing Director and General Manager

    Qualifications:

    • Proven experience in development, fundraising, or a similar administrative role.
    • Proficiency with CRM systems, ticketing software, Mailchimp, and other relevant technologies.
    • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with a humorous and diplomatic touch when working with senior staff and key stakeholders.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • A proactive approach and a drive to achieve results.
    • Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed for events.
    • A passion for the Arts and Theater in particular
    • A sense of humor and an adventurous curiosity are a must!
