    About the Job

    The GIIN has worked to support the scale and sophistication of the impact investing industry by building a vibrant community of impact investors and equipping them to deploy capital at scale and with integrity. Over 400 organizations comprise the GIIN’s membership which continues to grow in both scale and breadth, with strategic growth opportunities in multiple geographies.

    The Member Engagement team provides services and programming to this burgeoning community. The wide range of engagement opportunities are designed to support peer exchange, learning, and collaboration amongst members.

    The Member Engagement team is seeking an Associate to support with program administration, event management, relationship management, and other activities pertaining to member engagement and growth.

    The Associate will work across a range of membership programming that address different investment themes and topics in impact investing. One important component will be to support the programming streams that are associated with our Corporate Impact Investing Initiative. The Initiative also focuses on uniting the complementary strengths of corporations and impact investors to drive more capital into addressing urgent problems.

    Core Responsibilities:

    Event planning and Working Group support

    • Provide logistical support for activities and events, including sending invitations, managing registration, venue and other vendor research, procurement and purchasing of supplies, etc.
    • Support setting up and running the logistics for virtual convenings and webinars
    • Project manage the planning and execution of working group meetings
    • Produce participant materials for in-person and virtual convenings, such as attendee lists, sign-up sheets, nametags, participant packets, etc.
    • Support post-event close-down, including surveying attendees, sending follow-up emails, and reconciling attendance reports
    • Coordinate member outreach across different GIIN programs, including newsletters, update emails, etc.
    • Draft materials in support of working group meetings, including briefing documents, agendas, and PowerPoint presentations
    • Develop summary notes of working group meetings and keep track of agreed action items

    Relationship management

    • Support the Director with introductory and onboarding calls, and other recurring calls
    • Interface with members and other stakeholders as needed to support programming and organizational goals
    • Create and update contact information and call notes in Salesforce

    Marketing and communications

    • Work with the Communications Team to maintain and update marketing material and relevant GIIN webpages
    • In close collaboration with the Communications Team and the Associate Director for Membership Growth, support the running of digital marketing campaigns leveraging the GIIN’s social media platforms

    Program administration

    • Support program administration, such as maintaining and tracking work plans in Asana
    • Identify and develop processes around communications and project management to better deliver the program goals

    Other

    • Additional responsibilities as needed, including scheduling calls and other support for the Chief Investor Network Officer, and supporting reporting on grant deliverables

    This is primarily a program support position and plays a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of activities and provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the impact investing sector. The GIIN is seeking candidates who are self-starters and energized about supporting a field-building organization dedicated to growing the impact investing market.

    Applicants should have a high degree of professionalism, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, professional verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. The Associate must also be highly responsible, collaborative, resourceful, and flexible. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who takes initiative to consistently perform to high standards. Experience working in a professional office environment is preferred.

    Qualifications

    Candidate Profile:

    • Bachelor’s degree with 0-2 years’ experience in similar role and/or office setting preferred. Associates degree in related field, with 2 or more years of relevant experience in a similar role and/or office setting acceptable.
    • Able to effectively organize and coordinate multiple competing priorities, while tracking the details of each.
    • Possesses a strong client/service orientation (genuinely enjoys interacting with clients), with strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to write clear, concise emails or other communication, and to communicate in writing and verbally in a way that builds relationships.
    • Working knowledge of computer software applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Experience with, and aptitude for, technology solutions and databases, such as Salesforce, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Asana, MailChimp, Pardot, etc.
    • Team-orientation, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
    • Demonstrated ability to create and improve systems to make them more effective, including proactively spotting opportunities for improvement, and identifying and implementing solutions
    • Interest in impact investing, required; experience in the field highly desired.
    • Flexibility to work on a modified schedule (outside of normal business hours), if required by supervisor at times of peak project flow.
    • Personable, engaging presence with diplomacy, tact, and good humor.
    • Interest or experience in corporate sustainability and strategy

    • Work experience demonstrating exceptional administrative, organizational, project management, and/or event planning abilities.

    This position will be based in our New York City office with significant remote work flexibility offered through the GIIN’s hybrid in-person/remote work model. Candidates must possess valid authorization to work in the United States that does not require employment visa sponsorship.

    Compensation

    The GIIN is committed to pay equity. The salary range for this role is between $48,000-$60,000, with exact salary depending on experience, with an excellent benefits package.
