Volunteer Coordinator (Part-time)

Job Summary

Great and Small Therapeutic Riding (greatandsmallride.org) is seeking a part-time Volunteer Coordinator to manage volunteer program services including recruitment, training, and scheduling of volunteers. Great and Small's purpose is to serve our community with therapeutic riding and other equine-assisted programming and serves approximately 70 participants per week. The Volunteer Coordinator works closely with the Director of Programs and Operations and Executive Director. The position is responsible for overall management, support, and training of over 150 active Great and Small volunteers. Those committed to seeking a PATH CTRI are encouraged to apply.

Duties

• Oversight of Great and Small's 150+ member volunteer corps, including recruitment, training, scheduling, appreciation, and continuing education
• Implementation of center practices with volunteers and identifying and providing additional skills training
• Volunteer recognition and communication, including social media posts
• Organize and run volunteer appreciation events

Requirements

• Our ideal candidate must demonstrate strong communication, organization, and leadership skills and enjoy working with people and should possess an upbeat, flexible, team-oriented style.
• Mature interpersonal skills are also important as we are a small team working with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong experience with horses (both riding and unmounted) is required, and some experience supervising volunteers is preferred.
• Experience with, or willingness to learn, BetterImpact volunteer management software and Canva required; experience with social media a plus.
• Ability to work with a small team and maintain sense of humor required.
