    Job Title: Marketing Specialist

    Location (Hybrid): This position can be based in either Washington DC or Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN.

    Supervisor: Sr. Director Marketing

    The Marketing Specialist ensures HOA marketing, social media, and communication strategies are implemented and executed to support the organization's goals, including social media, website content, printed materials, individual giving donor-related assets, and other communications initiatives. This is a hands-on position responsible for creating and publishing content. The position reports to and works closely with the Senior Director of Marketing to develop and implement creative communications strategies and deliverables.

    Team: Marketing and Individual Giving

    Collaborating Positions: President; Vice President Program Delivery; Vice President Finance; Vice President Operations; Program Delivery Team and agency/consulting partners.

    Pay Range: $60,000 - $68,000, commensurate with experience.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Manage HOA’s Marketing, Communication, and Public Relations strategies.
    2. Other duties as assigned.

    Detail of Responsibilities:

    1. Execute HOA’s Marketing, Communication and Public Relations strategies.
      • Helps develop and evolve organizational Marketing, Communications, and PR strategies, and supports and preserves brand identity across all messaging, materials, and platforms.
      • Works closely with the President and Leadership Team to build an online presence, including a website, that is reflective of the HOA’s work.
      • Co-develop a strategic communications plan and materials for a variety of projects and activities, including email marketing, annual report, promotion of HOA projects, and fundraising initiatives.
      • Steward an engaging voice of the organization based on audience of the communication and produce engaging and dynamic content to further brand identity and ultimately, our mission.
      • Maintains a yearly editorial calendar and thirty-day communications content calendar for all project external communications and social media.
      • Delivers high quality, integrated communications to meet the department/project needs on time and on budget.
      • Manages HOA website and content, including the creation, editing, and posting of content with accuracy.
      • Community management, including content development, messaging, and engagement across multiple social media channels.
      • Reporting and insight development, such as social media, PR, Google Analytics, and other ongoing requests based on existing reporting cadence.
      • Develop simple graphics and layouts for multi-media, including infographics
      • Maintain a repository of photo assets and digital files, ensuring all event photos are cataloged and uploaded to Dropbox or another approved location.
    2. Other duties as assigned.
      • Willingness to pivot to special projects as needed

    Skills and Knowledge:

    • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in English, communications, mass communications, journalism, business management
    • 2+ years’ communication, marketing, and PR experience
    • Experience creating marketing and communication plans, digital content.
    • Experience managing social media presence across multiple platforms including content development, messaging, engaging, and tracking
    • WordPress experience and knowledge
    • Basic design and layout skills (experience with programs such as Canva)
    • 2+ experience within corporate philanthropy and/or nonprofits is a plus
    • Proven experience delivering quality programs and excellence in organizational and project management

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
    • Ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders, including foundations, corporate sponsors, and advisory groups
    • Ability to get along well with diverse personalities and interact with people at different levels within an organization with tact, flexibility, and discretion
    • Must meet strict deadlines consistently
    • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to match brand tone
    • Ability to conduct presentations in small and large group settings
    • Technologically proficient (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Analytics)
