    The Community Service Society is currently seeking an experienced Grant Accountant to join its Finance Department. Grant Accountant candidates should be able to perform the following job functions:

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Maintain grant files
    • Prepare financial reports and modifications for grants and communicate any issues to program staff
    • Use accounting system to perform account reconciliation
      • perform monthly closing entries and schedules
      • record accounts receivables and apply payments
      • identify and correct errors
      • prepare journal entries including accruals
    • Update and maintain various trackers for account payables, accounts receivables, employee and expense allocations etc.
    • Accounts payable including subrecipients – audit and input
    • Assist with agency annual audit
    • Other responsibilities identified by Supervisor

    Job Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required. Master's degree preferred
    • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in grant accounting or working in a non-profit environment
    • Ability to speak, type and write clearly, concisely, and keep detailed notes of all communications
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
    • Tech savvy
    • Knowledge of GAAP and Uniform Guidance (federal funding expenditures)

    Salary and Benefits: The annual salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000. Community Service Society provides a comprehensive employee benefits package including health, dental, and vision coverage, life, AD&D, and long-term disability insurance, 403b retirement savings plan, defined benefit retirement plan, flexible spending accounts, commuter benefits plan, EAP, and more in addition to paid holidays, vacation, sick, and personal days.

    CSS currently offers a hybrid work environment requiring onsite work at CSS’ office at least two days per week and three days per week remote work.
