    Description

    The newly created Corporate Membership Manager position has primary responsibility for the growth, management and enhancement of WBUR’s new corporate membership program.

    A collaborative, mission-driven, and entrepreneurial leader, they will excel at frontline fundraising and provide detail-oriented operational program management. This role is part of the Membership and Development team at WBUR and reports to the Director of Institutional & Corporate Giving. They’ll work with members of the WBUR Business Partnerships team, external vendors, and other key stakeholders.

    Major responsibilities include identifying, soliciting, and activating benefits for corporate members. Duties include prospect research; direct solicitation of prospects; management and tracking of annual renewals; coordinating with various departments across the organization to activate benefits; and ongoing stewardship of key corporate contacts.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Direct the ongoing work of WBUR’s corporate membership program, including establishing program objectives and priorities in consultation with the Director of Institutional & Corporate Giving.

    • Responsible for the Corporate Member relationship cycle from prospect research, securing new members, existing member maintenance, engagement, upgrades, and fulfillment
    • Plan and manage corporate membership marketing efforts, including but not limited to direct response programs, digital outreach and on-air campaigns
    • Develop and implement appropriate stewardship plan to recognize corporate members
    • In consultation with the Director of Donor Relations & Operations, develop and manage an annual Corporate Membership program budget

    CAPABILITIES & PROFICIENCIES:

    • A strong belief in the mission of WBUR and the importance of public media
    • Confidence and experience in direct solicitation of constituents, as well as a driven, results-oriented approach to ensure that the program is meeting its ambitious annual goals
    • A self-starting work style, with a proven ability to meet project deadlines and maintain positive, respectful professional relationships
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Comfortable working in and maintaining a donor database
    • Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality

    Preferred:

    • Corporate fundraising experience strongly preferred, preferably in an arts or educational setting
    • Previous experience managing a membership program desired
