    Position Overview:

    The Development Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting Global Learning Exchange Initiative’s (GLXi) mission to expand educational access globally. This position focuses on organizing and executing fundraising activities, managing donor relations, and assisting in grant research and writing to drive the organization’s funding goals. The initial contract is six months, with the opportunity to transition to Development Director based on demonstrated performance, leadership, and alignment with GLXi’s goals.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Fundraising Support

    • Plan and support annual fundraising events, including managing donor communications and tracking follow-ups.
    • Develop and execute targeted online and in-person fundraising campaigns, working with the Executive Director to set clear, quantitative goals.
    • Research and strategize on cultivating new donor prospects, including corporations, foundations, and individual donors.

    Grant Management

    • Research and identify grant opportunities, draft proposals, and ensure submission meets funding deadlines.
    • Maintain and update a grant proposal and reporting calendar, tracking reporting timelines and submission deadlines.
    • Serve as the main point of contact with foundations and grantmakers, building strong relationships through timely updates and acknowledgments.

    Donor Relations

    • Manage donor records using Bloomerang (or similar CRM software) and ensure accuracy and consistency in database entries.
    • Communicate regularly with current and potential donors, track engagement, and create acknowledgment letters and thank-yous.
    • Support Executive Director in executing strategies for donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

    Communications & Social Media

    • Collaborate with the Communications team to design and execute social media campaigns that increase GLXi’s visibility.
    • Develop impactful donor stories and updates for newsletters, reports, and the organization’s website.
    • Support the Executive Director with the creation of the Annual Report and other key publications, ensuring alignment with GLXi’s branding and goals.

    Team Collaboration and Administrative Support

    • Attend regular staff meetings and collaborate on organization-wide initiatives.
    • Assist in planning, executing, and evaluating in-person and virtual events.
    • Provide relevant reports for board meetings, including preparing materials and participating in board discussions as needed.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, public relations, or related field (or equivalent experience).
    • Demonstrated success in actively cultivating and securing new development revenue streams for startup or emerging NGOs.
    • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems, processes, and organizational needs, ensuring effective contribution in a dynamic environment.
    • Proven experience with grant writing and managing grant cycles, including reporting requirements.
    • Ability to take initiative and proactively seek out opportunities, with confidence and enthusiasm, to present to potential donors, organizations, and groups.
    • Proficiency in CRM software (preferably Bloomerang), Microsoft Office, and social media platforms.
    • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential; intermediate proficiency in Spanish is required.
    • Strong organizational, communication, and writing skills, with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
