    The Position: Reporting directly to the Director of Information Technology (IT), the Data and Innovation Manager will be responsible for managingLAFLA’s legal case management system (LegalServer) and other technology platforms used by the legal department. The position will serve as the primary administrator for implementing database modifications, training staff on the database, developing related policies and procedures, and providing end user support. This role will involve developing dashboards, queries, and other methods to analyze, compile, and present CMS data in readily understandable formats. The Data and Innovation Manager will also manage and optimize the call center system and phone trees to ensure efficient and effective intake communication.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; four-year degree preferred
    • 3+ years’ experience in LegalServer or equivalent case management system
    • 3+ years’ experience working with a legal service provider / legal aid organization
    • Experience with data visualization, call center administration, APIs, and/or GIS tools preferred
    • Self-motivated with the ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks under minimal supervision in an effective and efficient manner
    • Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment in a mission-driven organization
    • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and skills as needed to solve problems or improve processes
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
    • Prior experience training staff on technology platforms
    • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills

    EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

    • Manage LAFLA’s legal case management database (LegalServer), including ensuring that LAFLA’s case management database software is adequate to meet compliance requirements of LAFLA’s funding sources, including LSC, IOLTA and other grantors, and coordinating with the database vendor
    • Serve as primary database administrator for LegalServer, including, but not limited to, troubleshooting errors with LegalServer, implementing modifications, adding and updating user profiles, creating and updating document templates, evaluating and troubleshooting software interfaces and tools related to LegalServer
    • Work with Managing Attorneys to ensure case compliance in LegalServer
    • Work with Grants team and Managing Attorneys to develop grant data collection and reporting protocols
    • Train staff in use of Legal Server and other legal technology applications; and develop training materials and resources
    • Engage with national and statewide LegalServer stakeholder community
    • Create and maintain Power BI dashboards for real-time case data visualization and analysis
    • Provide administrative and technical support for LAFLA’s call center, including planning and implementing necessary call flow changes
