    Description

    The Hunter College School of Education's Frankfort Center for Learning and Scholarly Technologies is looking for an experienced and dynamic instructional designer to help us manage a transition from Blackboard to Brightspace. This position is limited to a total of 125 hours and runs from early January - mid- February.

    The Frankfort Center for Learning and Scholarly Technologies advances the needs of students, faculty and staff at the School of Education by supporting the integration and exploration of technology across the curriculum and in research. Technology is meant to enrich learning and help students develop important transferable skills, but should not become a roadblock to learning.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Assist faculty and departments with the transition of hybrid, HyFlex, and online courses and programs from Blackboard to Brightspace LMS while recommending best practices for flexibility and accessibility of course material.
    • Provide course quality reviews for best instructional practices and accessibility.
    • Provide training opportunities and materials to faculty and researching current trends in online learning.
    • Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, or a related field.
    • At least 2 years of related experience
    • Experience with learning management systems
    • Understanding of Learning Models and best practices for content delivery for adult learners.
    • Possess an enthusiasm for learning and creativity.
    • Strong project management skills.
    • Superior writing skills.
    • Excellent relationship management and communication skills.
    • Familiarity with software such as Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud or Microsoft Office.
    • Some in-person office hours may be required. Ability to work a flexible schedule with some evenings and Saturdays hours.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 4+ years of related experience
    • Master's degree in instructional design, educational technology, or a related field.
    • Experience in educator preparation or K-12 environments
    • Experience with Brightspace LMS highly preferred.
    • Prior experience with CUNY
