Description
Legal Services of New Jersey (LSNJ), an Edison-based statewide non-profit that provides civil legal assistance to low income New Jerseyans, seeks an experienced attorney for its Health Law/Public Benefits Unit. LSNJ provides advice and individual representation to persons with low income, engages in systemic advocacy on behalf of this population, and provides training and guidance in this area to Legal Services staff statewide.
The project concentrates on eligibility, services, and procedural rights for state and federal government benefits including food stamps, TANF, Medicaid, Medicare, Charity Care and emergency assistance but also advocates for beneficiaries of other low income health care programs, including the ACA Marketplace, as well as for the uninsured. LSNJ has made equality in health care and public entitlements access a priority.
We are seeking a person passionate about justice with excellent analytical and advocacy skills. Experience in any area of government benefits is preferred.Spanish fluency is also a plus.
