    Description

    The Clubhouse Lead is responsible for leading day-to-day activities and supporting the successful delivery of afterschool programming. This position involves directly working with youth, managing small groups, and ensuring activities align with the program’s goals of promoting academic, social, and emotional development. The Clubhouse Lead will act as a role model, providing hands-on supervision and guidance to program participants while supporting staff.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Program Delivery & Facilitation:

      • Plan and facilitate engaging activities in areas such as academics, arts, recreation, and social-emotional learning.
      • Lead group sessions and supervise students to ensure their safety and active participation.
      • Ensure activities are inclusive, culturally relevant, and aligned with students' developmental needs.
      • Provide homework help and academic enrichment as needed.

    Student Supervision & Behavior Management:

      • Maintain a safe, positive, and respectful environment for all students.
      • Monitor student behavior, implementing positive reinforcement and managing conflicts as needed.
      • Ensure adherence to program rules, safety protocols, and behavior guidelines.
      • Serve as a mentor, building positive relationships with students to foster trust and growth.

    Support & Coordination:

      • In charge of youth recruitment for all session and adherence to contract deliverables.
      • Assist the Programs Director with daily operations, including attendance tracking, supply management, and setup/cleanup.
      • Provide guidance to program staff and interns during activities.
      • Communicate any challenges or concerns to the Program Director promptly.
      • Complete Monthly Reports, data collection and other evaluation tasks as required by funders.

    Family & Community Engagement:

      • Maintain positive relationships with students’ families, updating them on student progress and program updates.
      • Collaborate with school staff and other community partners to align activities with student needs.
      • Participate in family events, field trips, and special projects to promote community involvement.
      • Attend various community/school events and meetings.

    Qualifications:

      • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Education, Youth Development, or a related field.
      • 1-2 years of experience working with children or youth in a school, camp, or afterschool setting.
      • Strong leadership skills and experience managing small groups of students.
      • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
      • Ability to implement positive behavior management techniques and support social-emotional learning.
      • Familiarity with afterschool programs or youth development practices.

    Preferred Skills & Experience:

      • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
      • Experience with trauma-informed care or behavior management techniques.
      • Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.

    Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

      • Ability to work flexible hours- afternoons, evenings, and occasional weekends.
      • Must be able to stand, walk, and actively engage with students during activities.
      • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and assist with setup/cleanup tasks.
