    Associate Director, Business Partnerships

    ABOUT CITY HARVEST:

    City Harvest is New York’s first and largest food rescue organization, helping to feed millions of New Yorkers who struggle to put meals on their tables. During our 40 years serving New Yorkers in need, we have rescued more than one billion pounds of fresh, nutritious food and delivered it free of charge to hundreds of food pantries, soup kitchens, community partners, and our own Mobile Markets® across the five boroughs. This year, we will rescue and distribute more than 77 million pounds of nutritious food to our neighbors in need. City Harvest works alongside our community partners to boost community capacity, expand nutrition education, and strengthen local food systems.     PRIMARY PURPOSE:

    The Associate Director is a key fundraising leader who plays a crucial role in driving revenue growth and donor engagement. Managing a multi-million-dollar portfolio, this external-facing role interacts with some of the organization’s largest corporate donors, managing single initiatives, multi-faceted annual campaigns, and partnerships for all Special Events. The Associate Director will collaborate across teams with Operations Council leaders, the Board of Directors, Generation Harvest, and development colleagues to support increased corporate giving and drive revenue growth.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Staffing: Lead and manage a team of up to 3 staff, providing strategic direction to help them achieve individual and team fundraising goals. Oversee progress, ensuring that direct reports meet annual targets. Set clear expectations and provide guidance to support overall success.

    Portfolio Management

    Manage a diverse portfolio of corporate donors, ensuring strong relationships and consistent revenue growth. Key responsibilities include:

    • Collaborate with the Director of Business Partnerships to execute the annual corporate strategic plan, driving the team to achieve revenue goals.
    • Build, solicit, and steward a portfolio of qualified corporate donors, cultivating relationships with donors and securing multi-year gifts.
    • Oversee and grow a multi-million-dollar portfolio, emphasizing year-over-year revenue growth.
    • Lead cross-functional teams to create collateral, proposals, and customized strategies for donors.
    • Manage and monitor financial performance, ensuring expenditures stay within budget and meet revenue targets.

    Donor Cultivation & Stewardship

    • Actively identify, cultivate, and steward prospects and donors throughout all stages of the donor lifecycle.
    • Provide donors with a positive experience through timely updates, personalized communication, and meaningful engagement opportunities.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Business Partnerships to plan and execute donor recognition events and activities that strengthen relationships.
    • Implement best practices for donor engagement, using feedback to enhance the donor experience.
    • Drive creativity and innovation to identify new opportunities for revenue growth and long-term donor retention.
    • Oversee a comprehensive stewardship and cultivation plan

    Campaign Management

    Oversee the planning, operations, and expansion of the Share Lunch Fight Hunger campaign, which brings awareness to food insecurities for NYC's youth during the summer months.

    • Collaborate with cross-departmental stakeholders to align goals and ensure financial targets are met while driving strategic planning, project management, and budget tracking to ensure campaign success.
    • Develop a multi-year strategy that projects revenue growth and new opportunities while setting the Business Partnerships team up for continued revenue success.

    SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Making important administrative decisions to ensure the team's objectives are achieved successfully.
    • Additional responsibilities to support the overall team's success as needed.

    EXPERIENCE:

    Education: Bachelor’s Degree, plus additional related college courses, professional training, or progressively responsible work experience within a profession.

    Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in corporate fundraising, business development, or related fields. Experience working in the nonprofit sector with an emphasis on special events fundraising is a bonus.

    Related Skills or Knowledge

    • A track record of securing 5, 6, and 7 figure deals, including sponsorship, new annual and multi-year commitments.
    • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with an ability to meet multiple deadlines
    • Demonstrated ability to develop proposals clearly and compellingly, with a proven track record of success.
    • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a strong attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated ability to creatively uncover new opportunities to build and maintain a robust pipeline.
    • The ability to thrive in a collaborative, team environment and work independently.
    • Understanding current corporate social responsibility trends, sustainability, DEI, and communications.
    • Experience using Raiser’s Edge NXT
