Nourishing Bethesda (NB), a dynamic nonprofit dedicated to combating food insecurity in the Bethesda area, is seeking a talented professional to join our team as a Development & Marketing Manager. We started in 2020 serving 100 families. Last year we supported 1,700 families at 10 distribution sites with more than a half million pounds of food, and a budget of $750,000. Our mission is not just about providing nutritious food, but also about fostering a sense of community and linking our clients to vital resources that help them build healthier, more stable lives.

    Position Summary:

    NB is seeking a full-time Development & Marketing Manager to lead our development efforts, foster donor relationships, execute a robust fundraising calendar, and manage and implement communications in support of development goals. This role is pivotal in ensuring the success of our fundraising initiatives while building a foundation for long-term growth. This position involves creating an annual development plan in partnership with NB leadership, which includes securing financial resources through individual donor cultivation, major gifts, corporate partnerships, foundational grants, and events.

    What We’re Looking For:

    • Undergraduate degree and minimum 2 - 4 years of professional experience, preferably in fundraising, membership, or relationship management fields; experience with Network4Good donor database or something similar.
    • A motivated professional with experience in development and marketing roles, preferably in nonprofit organizations.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and steward donors, corporate sponsors, and volunteers; ability to represent Nourishing Bethesda in a positive, knowledgeable, and professional manner.
    • Proficiency in data management tools and an ability to write posts for, and monitor, social media platforms for effective communication and tracking efforts.
    • Coordinate and manage activities associated with event planning in support of donor relations.
    • Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities within deadlines effectively.
    • Strong communicator at all levels and settings; excellent writing skills in email, newsletters, and marketing, including high-level proofreading.
    • A passion for advancing NB’s mission through innovative fundraising strategies.
    • Keen sense of personal integrity and discretion with handling sensitive information.

    This is a hybrid position, requiring a person to be onsite in Bethesda, MD, several days per week.
