As the Family Resource Liaison, you will be the first point of contact for individuals and families seeking assistance from the Williams Syndrome Association. Your role is crucial in guiding them through the support process, understanding their unique needs, and connecting them with the right resources. Key Responsibilities:
Intake and Inquiries:
- Manage incoming inquiries and guide individuals and families through the support process.
- Collect and record essential information with empathy and sensitivity.
Assessment:
- Conduct initial assessments to understand the unique needs of individuals and families affected by Williams syndrome.
- Identify and prioritize urgent needs, collaborating with the broader team for effective solutions.
Resource Referral:
- Connect individuals and families with relevant resources, programs, and services provided by the Williams Syndrome Association and external partners.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of community resources for timely referrals.
Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries related to Williams syndrome.
- Communicate effectively with individuals, families, and other team members, providing empathetic and supportive interactions.
- Track and provide stories regarding WS families and individuals for WSA purposes.
Education and Advocacy:
- Provide information and educational materials about Williams syndrome to individuals and families.
- Advocate for the needs of individuals with Williams syndrome within the organization and the broader community.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all interactions and interventions.
- Generate reports as needed for program evaluation and improvement.
Community and Team:
- Demonstrate dedication to and caring for people with Williams Syndrome and their families.
- Be a team player. Participate actively in organizational meetings and activities. Support other WSA team members with tasks as needed.
- Provide specific and actionable constructive criticism to management as needed to improve the WSA.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, healthcare, education or a related field or at least three years of relevant experience.
- Experience with developmental disability communities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy and sensitivity to the needs of individuals and families affected by Williams syndrome.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workplace, and other relevant software.
Preferred Qualification:
- Personal and/or professional knowledge & experience with Williams syndrome.
- Previous experience in family support coordination or a similar role.
- Experience in a nonprofit setting.
- Experience and/or training in neurodiversity and inclusion.
- Spanish bilingual a plus.
Working Environment:
- Full-time (40-50 hours per week) salaried position.
- Remote work with occasional travel required.
- Must have a reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace.
