    Description

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    We are seeking a Treasury and Investment Manager to oversee the management of Founders Pledge’s cash and investment assets. Reporting to the CFO, this role will be responsible for managing approximately [$100M], and growing, in assets under management (AUM) for our Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) and thematic philanthropic funds. These funds are invested as USD, GBP, and EUR in liquid equity and Fixed income products across the UK, USA, and Germany,

    The Treasury and Investment Manager will play a key role in cash management, investment oversight, and compliance with reporting requirements. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the financial health and sustainability of our organization.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO:

    Cash Management:

    • Oversee day-to-day cash management across multiple currencies, ensuring funds are available for deployment when needed.
    • Collaborate with the Philanthropic Services (PS) team to forecast cash needs and optimize returns on funds not immediately required.
    • Monitor and manage bank and investment accounts for all DAFs and in house thematic funds, ensuring accurate tracking of incoming funds and outgoing grants.
    • Manage foreign currency payments to optimize FX rates for international grantmaking.
    • Support month-end processes and ensure smooth reconciliation of balances.

    Investment Management:

    • Oversee investment portfolios ensuring that our investments remain in line with FPs overall investment policy.
    • Support the PS team with new gift acceptance, including managing currency issues for overseas donations and handling non-liquid or complex assets such as cryptocurrencies.
    • Set up Investment arrangements for DAFs that need to be held with Third party Investment advisors
    • Assist in evaluating investment opportunities to optimize returns while minimizing risk.
    • Suggest and implement interest rate management strategies and develop foreign exchange risk mitigation strategies.
    • Forecast medium- and long-term funding and hedging requirements.
    • Provide support for any one-off or unusual transactions.

    Reporting and Compliance:

    • Review monthly investment performance and allocate returns to DAFs and FP funds in both Sage & Salesforce, using in-house tools.
    • Owns the restricted cash & Investment asset balances in the SAGE and reconcile them to the bank statement each month.
    • Establish robust reporting practices to ensure balance sheet investment balances are accurately tracked and understood.
    • Work closely with the Financial Controller to reconcile overall treasury balances with DAF/fund balances in SAGE.
    • Work with FPs Member facing teams and the IT/ Product leads to ensure that DAF and Fund level reporting of Treasury balances are quickly and accurately provided to FPs DAF holders via the member app or through direct correspondence.
    • Build out an appropriate treasury platform to manage scale and complexity of our investment landscape as we grow
    • Ensure all Treasury and Investment policies are regularly reviewed and approved at the appropriate level policy reviews and approvals.
    • Work with our Product team to develop member-friendly external reporting

    Relationship Management:

    • Manage relationships with banking partners in the US and oversee the establishment of similar relationships in the UK. This will involve our banking partners for our In house investment options and any relationships to support DAF investments our donors wish to hold with other Registered Investment advisors
    • Organize and lead quarterly performance reviews with investment partners and ensure effective communication of investment outcomes.
    • Coordinate and lead quarterly FP Investment Committee meetings, managing agendas and preparing meeting packs , as well as ensuring minutes are circulated.

    WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

    We are looking for someone who has

    • Proven experience in managing a treasury function, with a solid understanding of treasury operations and responsibilities.
    • Strong knowledge of treasury accounting, including FX, liquidity management, cash flow, and financial instruments.
    • An understanding of accounting principles and experience with reflecting transactions in appropriate journal entries.
    • Expertise in financial markets, instruments, and debt management.
    • The ability to work autonomously while collaborating with the broader Finance and PS teams.
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail.
    • The ability to develop process enhancements and automation as we scale, working directly with our banking and asset management partners and our internal infrastructure team
    • A customer service-oriented mindset, with experience dealing with wealthy and financially sophisticated donors.
    • Strong communication and coordination skills to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
    • Proficiency in Google Docs, Excel, and SAGE Intacct accounting software.
